  1. Show us your biblical evidence of Jesus' "glorified body." Where is that written? Where can that be found in the scriptures?
  2. Jumbling things Jesus did after His resurrection but before His ascension, with that of His ascension, is exactly what you have done for the longest time...as if they were the same, and as much as claiming that flesh inherits the kingdom of God.
The following verses clearly show that Jesus was in a physical Body after the Resurrection.

John 20:26-27
Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Luke 24:40-43
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ATE it in their presence.

Jesus walked through locked doors.
Can YOU do that?
He had hands and feet and they has HOLES in them. He was in His
glorified Body which could appear and disappear at will.

As for "jumbling" the facts about the Resurrection and the Ascension - I haven't done that.
I've merely showed you the Scriptural facts.

YOU'RE the one who can'
't seem to point to a single verse that says Jesus transformed into "pure spirit" before ascending to the Father. I'd say the burden of proof rests on YOUR shoulders . . .

Hi Aspen,

Your statement sounds like you believe in moral relativism. Do you?

How does God reveal The Truth to us?

IHS....Mary

I believe in Absolute Truth.

Our spirit is renewed and our souls reborn through Jesus - but we're STILL human.
Christians are IN the flesh - but we are no longer OF the flesh. We are IN the world but no longer OF the world.
Prove it. Where is it written?

You can't, because that is not what the scriptures say.

That shows a "resurrected" body risen from the dead, not a "glorified body" as you wrongfully call it. It also shows Jesus just being God, performing miracles - but not transforming into some super glorified flesh body. That is not what it says, only what you assume. Which you do against all the facts of His many other similar miracles that were not even done after He rose from the dead. Nothing changed in His make up...He just rose from the dead, just as He had rose others.
YOU'RE the one who can''t seem to point to a single verse that says Jesus transformed into "pure spirit" before ascending to the Father. I'd say the burden of proof rests on YOUR shoulders . . .
For the last time: "I go to the Father." "God is spirit."

But you do not believe me, because you do not believe Him who sent me.

Jesus Himself was executed. He DIED in the flesh.
He was 100% man and 100% God and they killed His body.

James the Apostle was killed with a sword.
They killed his body because, although he was born again in Christ - he was STILL a human being.

Stephen was stoned to death.
They killed his body because, although he was born again in Christ - he was STILL a human being.

YOU still get sick - and one day, YOU will die because you are STILL a human being.

There's your proof . . .

Rubbish.

The Scriptures NEVER say that Jesus was transformed into "pure spirit" before ascending to the Father.
Show me where it says that in the Bible - and, "I go to the Father" doesn't cut it because He doesn't say, "I go to the Father, but first I gotta transform into pure spirit."

You guys are like Les Miserables. I have not been here very long, but since I have been I think the only time I have seen you come together was when attacking my views. I think you guys are actually fond of each other. Keep up the unfruitful spirited debate, neither will convince the other of anything. BreadOfLife I think you need a new sparing partner, ScottA seems to be out matched, to a degree, might I add. Very entertaining! God Bless!

You just proved yourself wrong, saying that the born again body dies.

Therefore, the flesh is not glorified, but still goes to the grave - once to die. What remains, however, is not the flesh glorified, but the spirit set free. As it is written: "Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it."

Let's now see if you can confess it and give God the glory.

ALL saved Christians - dead and alive - will receive glorified bodies at the Resurrection.
Unless you believe in the heresy of Soul Sleep - 1 Thess. 4:13-18 describes the process:

1 Thess. 4:13-18
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

YOUR perversion is a relatively new invention in Church history. . .

I'm not posting to convert ScottA. He is set in his false ways and ONLY the Holy Spirit can open his eyes.

As I've stated many times on this form - I post solely for those who come here seeking the truth who are sometimes seduced by lies.
They have a right to know the unfettered truth.

I believe in Absolute Truth.

Your previous statement:

We cannot generate truth only opinion. Only God can generate truth. We can give our opinion regarding Gods Truth, but it will vary, from person to person

Sounds a lot like Moral relativism...

Moral relativism defined: The view that ethical standards, morality, and positions of right or wrong are culturally based and therefore subject to a person's individual choice. We can all decide what is right for ourselves. You decide what's right for you, and I'll decide what's right for me.

If every Christian is allowed to give their opinion on Gods Truth (abortion is or isn't murder, same sex marriage is valid or not valid etc. etc.) and their opinion is just as valid as the next guys opinion then there is no Absolute Truth that you allege to believe in.

When the men at The Council of Jerusalem made the decision concerning the circumcision of non-Jews and they made that decision binding on all Christians; did they generate a Truth?

Or did those men just give their opinion? According to your theory opinions about Gods Truth vary from person to person. Does that mean Christians can reject the decision at the Council of Jerusalem if they have a different opinion?

Fair enough. So I ask again:

How does God reveal this "absolute Truth" to us?

Mary
Better yet, how does man receive "Absolute Truth"? Scripture tells us how God reveals it already- through the Holy Spirit. So, how does one receive the Holy Spirit? Through faith like a little child, total trust in Yeshua, God's Word. Did the apostles teach about circumcision, Paul to be exact? Yes. Circumcision is not salvation and should not be forced upon a Gentile and there should be NO disputes over this. Circumcision of spirit is what is important. This council convened to put to rest the Jews argument that all believers should be circumcised according to the Laws given to Moses. This was scaring off gentiles. So, it was a wise decision guided by the Holy Spirit to NOT impose this cutting of the foreskin on gentiles. No decision by the apostles is ever made without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This was a decision from Christ to whom the Father has delivered all authority and judgement. His obedience and sacrifice allows Him to decide on all laws. He is- Wonderful Councilor ,Prince of Peace.
Also,we ARE to be like minded in the faith. Where there is discord and division there is satan.

Now as for the truth of understanding amongst those debating, we know obviously 2+2=4, this is like when expressing a meaning of scripture. There is an obvious answer and it is true. However, when dealing with elemental minded people the truth can still seem unclear. Perhaps what seems simple to some due to advance spiritual development is still complicated for others. So, this means only the Holy Spirit can give clarity and pride tends to be the obstacle to this clarity. This must be true because scripture says it is the humble whom God raises up and feeds and the PROUD He sends away empty. It is the meek and humble of heart toward God who get answers. And those answers make PERFECT sense to the upright of heart.

Thank you EndTimeWine,

I agree with you. God reveals The Truth to The Church via the Holy Spirit and we are to be like minded in the faith. All the different churches (denominations) in this world say that The Truth has been revealed to them via the Holy Spirit and they base their doctrine on that revealed Truth. They say you must believe in their doctrine to be saved. Everyone else got it wrong except for them.

How do we determine which one of those churches (denominations) have had The Truth revealed to them via the Holy Spirit?

Mary

Another misinterpretation. 1 Thes. 4:13-18 does not refer to Christians only, but to Israel, who are the dead in Christ, those born under the first Adam. The living in Christ, are defined as living, because they are born [again] under the Last Adam (a life-giving spirit). - There's that word again (spirit)!

These are the first who are last, and the last who are first (the firstborn of the spirit, His heavenly church).

However, there is no "soul sleep", for that is the mind of the flesh, who live according to the world and its would-be timeline.

The only glorified body, is Christ's body in His heavenly glory - which is the glory of the Father, whom is spirit. The flesh profits nothing.

Well, I know you defend your denomination even with its faults. I defend unfettered- without the restraints of a denomination, the Word -solely. It -being infallible, I can not stumble over stumbling blocks of fallible men. And would NEVER use an imperfect example as a teacher. So, I understand the importance of TRUTH -unadulterated. With that said, what is ScottA? Sometimes he sounds Protestant and of one of its many sects, sometimes he sounds like a JW other times he sounds little Mormon and other times like a space cadet. He seems to be your primary adversary. It can appear to be staged, of course this is just an assumption on my part. Sometimes, ScottA can sound relatively sensible, then sound like he fell off the deep end. When I read the back and forth it sounds like you guys are creating a religious parody. I think some NEW blood needs to be infused. You have both been here much longer than I- this has turned out to be a long drawn out religious parody. Amusing! God Bless!
