The Mormons and the JWs and Oneness Pentecostals and the like ALL believe in different "gods" that the God of Christianity - and so do YOU. You've made that perfectly clear when you said that Jesus is pure spirit. That is a heresy, so why would you think that we are "brothers".

I was a Catholic for some 50 years and my husband also.........

Our children tried other churches and got us to go to a different church............

And we both got saved......... in our 50's .............

And we finally got a bible and started to read ........... what a big difference .....

I did not receive a answer about this.......... ! was wondering if a bible is now used in the church?
We were not told to get a bible....
I have had a girl friend now for years..... we were 4 and 5 years and now 81 and 82.........
She still belongs to the Catholic Church, and does not have a bible !
So If I was not saved how can she ? I was the one who got her to go to church.
But now , at this age ! What can I say to her ? to help !

I'm sorry that you and your husband didn't find Christ in the Church - but you can only blame yourselves.

First of all - to ask whether the Church now uses the Bible is clear evidence that you left out of ignorance and nothing else. You were seat-fillers but you weren't actively involved in the Mass - otherwise you would never have asked this question. Not only is the entire Mass Scripturally-based - there are 2 readings from the OT and the NT and a Gospel reading during the Liturgy of the Word.

The entire Catechism is Scripturally-based with footnotes and references to Scripture for every line written.
How could you possibly not understand that the Word of God is central to the faith.

I think it's sad that you left the fullness of the gospel for a partial truth - but perpetual-splintering is the true spirit of Protestantism. It's also a shame that your friend doesn't understand that her faith is drenched in the Word. I'll keep you, your husband and your friend in my prayers.
