We base our judgments on FACTS, not opinions, -- unless it's the Democratically controlled House "Intelligence Committee", which accepts EVERYTHING except FACTS.

So when you say that no one knows the date, -- could you clarify your assertion*? -- Are you saying that no one knows the WEEK; MONTH; SEASON; YEAR (1); SCORE (10); DECADE (20); CENTURY (100); DAYTONA (500); or MILLENNIA (1,000)? Or are you simply citing where Matt. 24:36 says "no man knows the DAY or the HOUR"?

Gave my reasoning in #379

So again no one knows the date, but we should know the season.
Parable of the fig tree will give you that season as well...

... Gave my reasoning in #379 ...
... no one knows the date ...

CORRECTIONS:
#1. Your "reasoning" did not address the Scriptural "hour/day" versus pulpit FALSE TEACHING: week/month/season/year/decade/score/century/daytona/millennia.
#2. YOU do not know the date. Now maybe you're GOD and actually know other people's hearts, motives, and knowledge. If so, I'll apologize for any assertion I might make that you're ill-considered, ill-informed, and ill-advised.

MY OFFER:
If you WANT to know the date, Scripture (not "discernment/feelings", not "astronomy", not "pseudo-math", and not "psuedo-history") is clear. And anyone can consider the SAME INFORMATION and come to their own conclusion if interested. -- But apparently most people are as my favorite Aunt used to tease: "My mind's made up, don't confuse me with the facts."

Some "see through a glass darkly", -- some prefer to be blind,

I suppose we'll see...won't we.
When it all happens, as it surely will, then they [we] will know there has been a Prophet in their midst. Ezekiel 33:33

Just because there has been a very long time between the prophesies being made and their fulfilment, there is no reason for us to discount them in any way.
Remember Isaiah prophesied Jesus first Advent more that 1000 years before that happened. Fulfilled to the letter. Example; Zechariah 9:9

The Bible prophesies will not fail, anyone who thinks they will casts doubt and aspersions on ALL of the Bible.

I don't really think anyone here thinks the bibles prophecies will fail. We got a lot of doubt for peoples interpretations of them, however.

The problem lies with people having accepted false teachings and believing wrong interpretations, by themselves or from the wolves among the flock.
Most prophesies make quite plain statements; like Isaiah 66:15-17 and 2 Peter 3:7. The great and terrible Day of the Lord's fiery wrath will affect all of the world. Joel 2:30-32, Luke 21:34-35

We are told exactly what it will be and the results of it. Why is there any controversy about it?

You know why. People are different. They think differently, perceive things differently, understand things differently. Now...I most certainly think that God wrote his word to be understood A way. He had a truth in mind when he caused it to be written, and we are able to know it, else he wouldn't have given it to us. But people are fallible. They allow bias, misunderstandings of genre, laziness of study and yes, false teachers to sway their understandings.
The mistakes we often make, however, even if we think WE have the correct interpretation of scripture, is to assume which of the above is guiding 'the mistaken'. Or, in fact, the assumption we are the correct ones in the first place. Sometimes the simple fact of being so stubbornly sure we cannot be wrong, will lead us to a place where not even God can lead us to truth.
My point being; humility is not a dirty word. And if we're so sure that we're right, its not going to hurt to try and persuade others by appealing to the word alone...which ought to be sufficient to carry the day. When people start laying about with 'false prophet' or 'leaven of men' or 'men's doctrines' (not pointing my finger at you here, this is just a general observation) the conversation is not going to go very far, which cannot further the cause of Christ, don't you think? Goodness knows I switch off almost immediately when I see those things.

You know why
Isaiah 29:9-12 tells us why.
People who choose to believe false teachings are blinded to the truth.
Also the wisdom of the so called 'wise' will be lost. Matthew 11:25, 1 Corinthians 3:18-20
And if we're so sure that we're right, its not going to hurt to try and persuade others by appealing to the word alone...which ought to be sufficient to carry the day.
I do this. Often without any effect, as people simply refuse to change their beliefs, even when presented with clear scriptures. Isaiah 8:16

Only as things unfold will understanding come to most. Isaiah 29:23-24, Isaiah 32:3-4, Isaiah 45:4-5, +

Well, that's all you can do, is it not? All any of us can do with what we fervently believe to be true. And then, yes...wait and see what will come to pass.

Quite right. We just do not know when; what is prophesied for the end times will take place.
So we must continue on with our lives, doing what we can to further the Kingdom and be ready for the time of testing to come.

However we should study the prophesies, 2 Peter 1:19, and we should not be in the dark, 1 Thess 5:3-4, about God's plans for His people.

The Next Prophesied Event:
Isaiah 61:1-2a The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to announce good news to the humble, to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and to proclaim a year of the Lords favor.

Isaiah 61:2b-3...and a Day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, to give then garlands instead of ashes, oil of gladness, instead of mourners tears and a garment of splendor for the distressed. They will be called trees of righteousness, planted by the Lord for His adornment.

Isaiah 61:4-11 Buildings long in ruin and desolate will be restored and rebuilt. Foreigners will serve you, caring for your flocks and vines, but you will be called priests of the Lord and the wealth of the nations will be yours. Because My people have received insults and shame in double measure, they will receive in their own Land, wealth in double measure.

For I, the Lord love justice and hate injustice, I shall give My people a sure reward and make an everlasting Covenant with them. Their posterity will be renowned among the nations, they will be seen as a people blessed by the Lord.

Let us rejoice in the Lord with all our hearts. From Him has come victory and deliverance. His people, robed in beauty are like a garden full of flowers. The Lord will make His victory and renown known to the nations.
Reference: REB, NIV, KJV. Some verses abridged.

Isaiah 61:1-2a, was quoted by Jesus at the commencement of His ministry;.... a year of the Lord’s favour’. He stopped in mid sentence and then said: Today, in your hearing, this prophecy has come true.

Therefore, the rest of this chapter is unfulfilled prophecy. So, we look for the sequence of events to unfold as written, commencing with:

a Day of vengeance of our God’ - The next prophesied event, the Sixth Seal. Not the Return of Jesus in His glory, but His punishment to the nations, triggered by an attack on Israel. This is prophesied and described comprehensively throughout the Bible as a terrible disaster by fire, that will affect the whole world. Isaiah 63:1-6, Isaiah 30:26, 2 Peter 3:7, Revelation 6:12-17

comfort all who mourn’ - All who love the Lord and follow in His Laws, those who mourn His death on the cross. Zechariah 12:9-10

trees of righteousness, planted in their own Land’ - His people: all faithful Christians, Jews and Gentiles are gathered and settled in His holy Land, into all of that area promised to the Patriarchs, to their descendants by faith, Galatians 3:26-29, in the new country of Beulah. Isaiah 62:1-5, Ezekiel 20:34-36, Isaiah 26:15

buildings rebuilt and the land restored’ - After the devastation caused by this CME sunstrike, The Lord will regenerate the Land, Ezekiel 36:8 but buildings must be rebuilt, including the new Temple. Isaiah 65:21, Zechariah 6:15

foreigners will serve you’ - Isaiah 60:10...foreigners will rebuild your walls...

wealth of the nations will be yours’ - Zechariah 14:14 The same as what happened at the first Exodus. Exodus 11:2

‘make a Covenant with them’ - Jeremiah 31:33, Ezekiel 34:25, Isaiah 54:10

‘from Him has come victory and deliverance’ - Psalms 91:14-16, Psalms 44:4-7

‘known to the nations’ - Ezekiel 39:21, Isaiah 40:5

As usual, the above understanding is based on the author's misunderstanding.

Isaiah 61:4, 6a, 8
4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of two generations.
. . . . .

6 But you shall be named the priests of the Lord,
They shall call you the servants of our God.

. . . . . . . .

8 "For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery for burnt offering;
I will direct their work in truth,
And will make with them an everlasting covenant.

If you consider the last two Hebrew word in the above verse, “dō·wr wā·ḏō·wr” both with the embedded Hebrew Root word: - "דּוֹר" H:1755 in the respected Hebrew words in this verse where the Hebrew Root Word has the meaning of

age, evermore, generation, never, posterity
Or (shortened) dor {dore}; from duwr; properly, a revolution of time, i.e. An age or generation; also a dwelling -- age, X evermore, generation, (n-)ever, posterity.
Where “dō·wr wā·ḏō·wr” should be translated as "an age plus an age" or simply put, "of two ages," where an age is a little longer than 1,000 years such that the time period until verse 4 above comes into effect, is a little over 2,000 years from when God turns his back on the Israelites. After this time period, God will make an everlasting covenant with the nation of Israel, the Same covenant that He had made with the nation of Israel at Mt. Sinai, to be a Kingdom of Priests, A Holy Nation and His possession among the nations. No where in Isaiah 61:4-11 is there any mention that the Israelites will return to the Land of Canaan, which was a part of the Promised Land that God had taken away from the Israelites from around 4 BC, to rebuild their houses, instead the verses above suggest that the Israelites will be scattered among the Gentiles and that they will be taking their double portion from the Gentiles.

Oh well, no one is absolutely perfect, and not everyone takes correct easily. There is a little bit of stubbornness in all of us.

Shalom

As usual, the above is based on the posters extreme bias and false beliefs.
What is required for understanding the Prophesies, isn't pedantic exegesis, but common sense and logical reasoning.
Knowing what it is that the Lord wants of His faithful people is paramount.

As Isaiah 61:2b-11 says; the Lord's faithful people, now every true Christian from every race, Ephesians 2:11-18, will live in all of the holy Land, being the people God always wanted there, but has never yet had.

May I put forth an observation? The 6th Seal of Revelation, to all appearances, seems to describe a Theophany.

Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” -Revelation 6:15–17

If people are calling to be hidden from the face of the one seated on the throne, not just the wrath of the Lamb, then this seems to be speaking of more than just heavenly wrath poured out upon the earth below. Indeed, if we look at other passages in the NT that speak of the Lamb; Christ, coming to judge, both the wicked and just, then it seems to me that we are looking at a Theophany here...Christ's coming. And as I believe the bible only speaks of Christ returning once, I'm not sure how that plays into you above scenario.
