In His word to us, God says at Isa 42:8 I am Jehovah. That is my name. Did you know that in the original Bible Jehovah had His name recorded over 7000 times?

Most of us are familiar with the Movie the ten commandments, and many of us know some of them, and are familiar with the plagues put upon Egypt, but few are familiar with the verse found at Exodus 9:16 which reads: for this very reason I have kept you in existence: to show you my power and to have my name declared in all the earth. Yes, Jehovah desired His name to be known throughout the earth.

How important was that name to Jesus? When teaching his disciples how to pray, Jesus chose to place God's name first in his prayer, and instructed that His name should be held holy, or sanctified. Jesus used God's name, even making it manifest to those who knew him well Jn 17:6, 26. Jesus assigned his followers to teach all the things he commanded, making more disciples until the good news would be spread to the ends of the earth. Mat 28:20; Acts 1:8.

Are you making God's name known to others?

"let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4 10-12

"For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phil. 2:9-11

The entire New Testament does not contain the name Jehovah. Look in the Greek Interlinear Bible, it's not there. Why? JESUS IS THE NAME used throughout or Lord. Any reference to our Father is Father.
It's odd, JW's insist on this name that was made up in the 16th century and never uttered by Jesus or the Apostles. The Jews were afraid to prounounce YHWH incorrectly so they used Lord, Adonai. Yahweh may be closer to the word, yet is it really a name or description of who He is, a state of being. '"I AM Who I Am" ... "Tell them, I Am has sent me to you." I am the creator, the eternal being, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob ... It was the preincarnate Christ, who spoke to Moses, giving him an incomplete introduction that He would later complete. "Before Abraham was, I AM"; "I AM th Bread of Life"; "I AM the Resurrection and the Life"; "I AM the Good Shepherd"; "I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life"; "I AM the Doorway"; "I AM the Vine"; I AM the Alpha and Omega" etc. Moses new He was talking to God, but He didn't quite know as much as we do now that has been revealed through Jesus. The Old Testament was Christ concealed and the New Testament was Christ revealed. God emptied Himself into a womb of Mary and was born the baby Jesus ... worshipped and adored even by angels in the midst.
"For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 That's difficult to get your mind around - isn't it?

Even if one was to believe that the Father spoke to Moses and said to him, My name is Jehovah, why would we call our Father by a name?
I never called my Dad, Americo or my Mom, Margaret. Through my love and honor for them and who they are, my parents, I addressed them as Dad or Mom. Likewise, Jesus called His Father, Father as He instructed us to pray to Him that way. It would be disrespectful for me to say to my Dad, " Hey Americo, can I have some money?" Nor would he say, "No, I'm broke, go ask Marge!" Even to this day my grown nieces and nephews address me as Uncle, showing me respect.
We are to correctly address and call on our Father as Father, Abba.
What if you get to heaven and ask to see Jehovah and the angels at the gate say, "I'm sorry but there is no one here by that name?" But then said, "Jesus is waiting to see you and to sort some things out that you've been confused about and then He will introduce you to our Father ... Who is and prefers to be called, FATHER" ?

Ignoring honest alternate translations is a problem for most Bible students.

Isaiah 45:21-25 KJV
21) Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
22) Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
23) I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
24) Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.
25) In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

Philippians 2:9-11 KJV
9) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I find these two passages lead me to the inescapable conclusion that Jesus Christ is LORD.

The pronunciation of YHWH is lost to time, though it seems the scholars have largely settled on Yahweh, but 'Iesous, "Yay-soos", written now as Jesus, has been revealed to us.

Much love!

We are to use the name of Jesus, and we are not to take God's name in vain.
Taking God's name in vain, is not to say "Godd___M".
Has nothing to do with that........nothing.

You're not being accurate concerning the name of YHWH God(Jehovah). The name of the true God was taken out of the scriptures. Imperfect men who are nothing but dust believe they are wiser and have more authority than God and because of some superstitious reason took God personal name YHWH out of Scripture and replaced it with the words like Lord and God. The fact that God had his name put in the scriptures 7000 times is meaningless to these people. Oh something else you don't understand, when the apostles were inspired to write the new testament, those original inspired writings, not the copies of those inspired writings, but the original inspired writings, had God name YHWH in those inspired writings. It was those people who said they were Christians after the apostles had all died that took God name YHWH out of Scripture.
Another thing, the Septuagint Bible that existed in Jesus Christ time that he was on the earth, had God's name YHWH in it, so whenever Jesus read from that Bible and he came across the name YHWH in a scripture he was reading he would read the name YHWH.
Also when you say that Jews were afraid to pronounce YHWH so they used words like Lord instead of YHWH you're saying that men's reasoning is more important than what God said. God has always wanted his name YHWH known throughout all the nations.

At some point I agree a superstitious idea arose among the Jews that it was wrong even to pronounce the divine name YHWH. Just what basis was originally assigned for discontinuing the use of the name is not definitely known. Some hold that the name was viewed as being too sacred for imperfect lips to speak. Yet the Hebrew Scriptures themselves give no evidence that any of God’s true servants ever felt any hesitancy about pronouncing his name.

Another view is that the intent was to keep non-Jewish peoples from knowing the name and possibly misusing it. However, Jehovah himself said that he would ‘have his name declared in all the earth’ (Ex 9:16; 1Ch 16:23, 24; Ps 113:3; Mal 1:11, 14), to be known even by his adversaries. (Isa 64:2) The name was in fact known and used by pagan nations both in pre-Common Era times and in the early centuries of the Common Era.
Another claim is that the purpose was to protect the name from use in magical rites. If so, this was poor reasoning, as it is obvious that the more mysterious the name became through disuse the more it would suit the purposes of practicers of magic.

Many have suggested that the name ceased to be used by about 300 B.C.E. Evidence for this date supposedly was found in the absence of the Tetragrammaton in the Greek Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Scriptures, begun about 280 B.C.E. It is true that the most complete manuscript copies of the Septuagint now known do consistently follow the practice of substituting the Greek words Kyʹri·os (Lord) or The·osʹ (God) for YHWH. But these major manuscripts date back only as far as the fourth and fifth centuries C.E. More ancient copies, though in fragmentary form, have been discovered that prove that the earliest copies of the Septuagint did contain YHWH

One of these is the fragmentary remains of Deuteronomy, listed as P. Fouad Inventory No. 266. It regularly presents the YHWH, written in square Hebrew characters, in each case of its appearance in the Hebrew text being translated. This manuscript is dated by scholars as being from the first century B.C.E., and thus it was written four or five centuries earlier than the manuscripts mentioned previously.

Many modern scholars and Bible translators advocate following the tradition of eliminating the distinctive name of God. They not only claim that its uncertain pronunciation justifies such a course but also hold that the supremacy and uniqueness of the true God make unnecessary his having a particular name. Such a view receives no support from the inspired Scriptures, either those of pre-Christian times or those of the Christian Greek Scriptures.

The name YHWH occurs 6,828 times in the Hebrew text. The very frequency of the appearance of the name shows its importance to the Bible’s Author, whose name it is. Its use throughout the Scriptures far outnumbers that of any of the titles, such as “Sovereign Lord” or “God,” applied to him.

Not at all Tigger, but it is best to understand what is meant by those titles, in which some are applied to Jehovah as well.

Both Jesus and Jehovah share the title Lord Marks. Jesus is never called LORD, as everywhere that occurs in versions of the Bible, the translator chose to replace God's name with the title LORD a clear understanding of that is easily seen at Ps 110:1 which you can see the contrast, the first LORD is referring to Jehovah, the second to Jesus. There are other lords as well in the Bible. They share the same title Savior along with others as well. Not really the point of the post, but nonetheless a serious matter for sure. Jehovah will have no other god before His face sir, not even his son. Knowing God is a requirement for survival when Jesus returns 2 Thes 1:8

I fully agree Be, God is certainly not God's name, so saying something like God damn, is certainly not taking His name in vein. A good example of taking His name in vein, would be for one:(2 Timothy 3:5) . . .having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power. . .

Jehovah Witness theology. Did you get that out of your "Reasoning Through the Scriptures" book?
I can go round and round debating this topic with no resolve. Believe what you will, all 8 million of you. Read your Watchtower publications and keep that isolated, secure wall around your camp segregating yourselves from the Body of Christ, of some 2.65 billion, who share a very different theology than yours.
You guys are trying to influence us to come over to your side and it's a futile attempt, just as your knocking on doors for hundreds of millions of hours every year to hopefully account for a few blind people to trickle in. And after over 100 years, there is little fruit to show for your labor. This is really the proof in the pudding, your numbers. If God was truly behind your church He would grow it - not at a snails pace.
In 1900, there were 500 million professing Christians ( Catholics, Protestants and Non- denominationals). God has grown the Body of Christ exponentially in that time. That is the power of God at work in SPIRIT-FILLED CHURCHES.
As we see written in Revelation, some churches are faithful, having good doctrine, others had bad doctrines and sin and almost dead, needing to repent. When He removes the candlestick, there is no growth. He is merciful and may sustain your existence, but if your doctrines are off, there is little to no growth. That is the Holy Spirit at work... or not. He grows it and He is not an impersonal force. Actually what you've experienced mostly in the JW org. are parents just passing down seriously dead theology to their children which accounts for some growth. Oh, you know how to love, and you know sin, but your concept of God/Jesus is seriously flawed.
We have all labored to show you the truth but it seems futile. Just realize that all your attempts to gets us in your camp are and will be fultile as well.

Consider what Paul was doing when he wrote that passage, and applying it to Jesus.

There is salvation in none other the YHWH, None other! There is salvation in no other Name than Jesus. No other! Jesus and YHWH are one and the same.

In His word to us, God says at Isa 42:8 I am Jehovah.
Actually the Hebrew has this יְהוָ֖ה which is equivalent to Yah-weh and which is "the LORD" in the KJB. It is applicable to both God the Father and God the Son.

In the original Hebrew YHWH is used, not Jehovah, and the Greek New Testament has zero use of the name Jehovah.

Genesis 1 uses Elohim, not Yahweh.

And there’s this:

Exo 6:3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Jehovah I was not known to them.

JW propaganda is inaccurate.

As we see written in Revelation, some churches are faithful, having good doctrine, others had bad doctrines and sin and and almost dead, needing to repent. When He removes the candlestick, there is no growth. He is merciful and may sustain your existence, but if your doctrines are off, there is little to no growth. That is thr Holy Spirit at work... or not. He grows it and Jenis not an impersonal force.

I know that you will deny that Jesus read Gods name YHWH from the Septuagint Bible of his day no matter how much evidence that scholars have who are not even Jehovah's Witnesses admit that fragmented copies of the Septuagint Bible have been found that show Gods name YHWH is in those fragmented copies and have been dated to around the 1B.C.E. You will deny anything no matter how truthful it is if goes against what you believe.

You think that just because there are so many Catholics and Protestants that is proof they're the true Christians. I could go on and on about the history of Catholics and Protestants that show they don't have the true love that makes them true Christians.

But as God said and inspired Paul to write:

Philippians 2:6-11
King James Version

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

THE NAME OF JESUS IS MORE IMPORTANT NOW AND MORE HIGHLY EXALTED THAN THE NAME YAHWEH!

Yah, the church was off track for 1900 years and God finally said, "Emm, they just don't have it right, I'll send Charles Taze Russell in to get them back on track! And since all the translations are off too, I'll send them a real scholar, Frederick Franz to write the NWT." Excellence! lol
