Mmmm. While I would agree that even flies have a certain function, and to keep that function from suffering over population, we have spiders etc, there are however some things around that I for the life of me cannot with all good conscience find a useful purpose for.
Like bell-bottomed trousers...scorpions...numerous key functions on my laptop...the empty space at the top of most cereal cartons...mosquitos...

Sure a fly has a purpose.
It eats decaying matter.
It is a source of food for other living things.

Personlly, I don't keep decaying matter in my home, nor prey on flys for food...so find no reason to allow them to remain in my home, should one find its way into my home.
