Coming from a Christian perspective, no genuine Christian should ever feel justified in carrying a weapon, especially one that is specifically designed to take human life. We have no sanction from God to do that.

When Jesus was threatened with violence he did not call down an army of angels to kill his abusers….he simply left the scene. Remember the words of the apostle Paul….

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage warfare according to what we are in the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things. 5 For we are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are bringing every thought into captivity to make it obedient to the Christ”. (2 Cor 10:3-5)

The only weapons we are to use are spiritual….and as Paul also said…we have defensive weapons to use, but not offensive ones….

“Put on the complete suit of armor from God so that you may be able to stand firm against the crafty acts of the Devil; 12 because we have a struggle, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places. 13 For this reason take up the complete suit of armor from God, so that you may be able to resist in the wicked day and, after you have accomplished everything, to stand firm.”
So what are these defensive weapons?…..

14 Stand firm, therefore, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, wearing the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having your feet shod in readiness to declare the good news of peace. 16 Besides all of this, take up the large shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the wicked one’s burning arrows. 17 Also, accept the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, that is, God’s word”. (Eph 6:11-17)

Do you see any justification for ever using carnal weapons in those words, when Jesus told us to “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”…..(Matt 5:43-44)

How obedient must we be in order to prove that we are Christ’s disciples?
Children need to be toilet trained, the ignorant educated and the bar of moral development raised.

The Lord told me to rid myself of my guns. I had quite a few, however the Lord showed me the hedge he placed around me.
As the world comes to an end, the gov't preaches peace and safety, everyone wants it, but Satan is in charge of the world and no peace will come to anyone. Jesus is coming soon.

That's bull ...... I carried a 357 Mag every time I went out to hunt. Grizzly's are way bigger than I am ......You would rather I be eaten alive to satisfy your hatred for something you don't understand and are afraid of.

My gun never got up from the shelf and killed anyone. Apparently you have a hard time believing that ....

Now you are trying to tell us the armies of the Israelites should have never armed themselves.......Silly emotional display.

I wonder how "Christian" that is?

That's bull
It’s the words of Jesus recorded in the Bible.
“You heard that it was said: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those who persecute you,”. (Matt 5:43-44)

You read what Paul said, yet still you justify your weapons. Jesus and his apostles surrendered to their enemies....they did not physically fight them. They had their defensive weapons from God, not offensive weapons from man.
...... I carried a 357 Mag every time I went out to hunt. Grizzly's are way bigger than I am ......You would rather I be eaten alive to satisfy your hatred for something you don't understand and are afraid of.
Hunting is not war. It’s OK to hunt for food, but not OK to kill animals for sport, or to take human life out of hatred for a person of an enemy nation, who also serves man’s interests. Self defence is also OK as long as there is no intent to kill. As Jesus himself demonstrated, its better to leave the scene than to retaliate with violence. Under God’s law as well as man’s, intent is the difference between murder and accidental manslaughter....yet both carried a penalty.

In the two world wars of last century, nations that professed to be “Christian” killed their own “brothers” of the opposing nation because man told them to. They whipped up patriotic fervour by means of propaganda, in order to justify the killing. Jesus never would have told them to be violent against other “Christians” or anyone else for that matter.

“If anyone says, “I love God,” and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar. For the one who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21 And we have this commandment from him, that whoever loves God must also love his brother.” (1 John 4:20-21)

There is no way to justify participating in carnal warfare.....a genuine Christian will not carry weapons or kill for man’s political agendas....nor to satisfy some notion that ‘kill or be killed’ is a “Christian” thing to do.
My gun never got up from the shelf and killed anyone. Apparently you have a hard time believing that ....
A gun designed to take human life should not be on a “Christian’s” shelf in the first place. Owning such a weapon and training to use it, shows intent. You show how deep the indoctrination goes by protesting so loudly.
Tell it to Jesus who will be the judge of all of us.
Now you are trying to tell us the armies of the Israelites should have never armed themselves.......
The Israelites had something we do not have.....a God-given land to defend from their enemies, and God’s sanction to protect it. Their wars were always defensive, never offensive. They didn’t go around conquering other people’s land and killing anyone who stood in their way.
By the time Jesus walked the earth, the Jews were spread out in the world, (the diaspora) whilst Gentile powers had taken over their land. The Israelites did not even have an army then. So even in Jesus’ day there was no war ever sanctioned by God.....only the spiritual kind, as Paul stated.

Your country and mine were stolen by force and with much bloodshed from their original inhabitants. Weapons were used to get rid of those who wanted to defend their own land.
We have nothing to be proud of in the actions of our forefathers of the British Empire. They not only stole land what was not theirs, but turned the indigenous people into second class citizens in their own country.

If you can defend that, then I fear for the condition of your heart.
Silly emotional display.

I wonder how "Christian" that is?
Way more “Christian” than yourself apparently......Turn that critical eye on your own attitude as it is typical of those who want to defend and justify the indefensible attitude displayed by the masses of gun owners in the US....the silly emotional display appears to be all yours.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems to be ok at a younger age when they join the army and send overseas to screw up nations and come back leaving the places in shambles. It's called "hit and run".

Mark my words, this is going to happen also in Eastern Europe.

Our country wasn't "stolen" by force ....Your country was a British prison colony. Warring Indian Tribes busy killing each other makes it a different ball game.

You gave in to tyranny and let the government take your guns.. We have a Constitution that forbids the government from taking our guns.

Funny that a socialist nation paying for a Royal Family that we shed our country from .....makes so much useless noise.

Slavery was not an American Product. Again ....forced on us by England ......when we kicked them out the second time ....It was heaven sent.

Your sell out to old England is beyond reason. I'll bet you didn't have a gun to donate to the cause when the Government tried to take them all .......But you have an opinion to condemn Christians should they own one .......be careful about what you have to say .....Just say you are afraid of guns and leave it at that.

Your reasoning is like indoctrination to me. I don’t go out and imagine that every person I pass in the street is armed and some loony might pull out a gun and shoot a bunch of people for no reason.....or that I could send my child to school in your country without worrying about the same thing....it’s like the frog in the pot...you seem to to have no idea how ridiculous your gun laws are because of the prevailing attitude about weapons seemingly inculcated from birth. We have no such indoctrination, so gun toting is a strange notion to those outside the USA.

If it’s to protect you from your government, then I have to laugh.....because the weapons they possess would make your guns look like water pistols.

Christians have no reason to arm themselves because to use a weapon puts you on the same level as the ‘criminals’ you are supposedly protecting yourself from.

God will never find me guilty of murder because I would never take up a weapon with intent to kill someone.
You can never call yourself a Christian if you carry a weapon designed to kill another human. That shows intent. It’s the difference between murder and manslaughter, and yet under God’s law both incurred a penalty. Life is sacred to God and if you believe in him, you don’t need weapons. Death is not something to fear.....disobeying God, is.

"Christians have no reason to arm themselves because to use a weapon puts you on the same level as the ‘criminals’ you are supposedly protecting yourself from."

Now you are making a feeble attempt to equate the criminal use of a gun with the law abiding use of a gun. No wonder you Assies lined up to depend on a Government that can't defend you at every turn. We lived on a lake for a few years .....sometimes 45 minutes for the Sheriff to answer a call .....By that time you are dead .....maybe you have a secret wish to arrive at heaven ahead of time. We were told "Make sure your guns are loaded and make sure you know how to use them." You can run and hopefully hide. There are far more lawfully owned guns in the US. You never hear about the lawful gun stopping a bad guy .....Only the bad guy .....

God will never find me guilty of murder because I would never take up a weapon with intent to kill someone.

I have never been brainwashed into thinking I need one....my grandson owns several guns, but he is a hunter who hunts game for food. We have a feral deer problem here, as they are yet another introduced species who are ruining the habitats of native animals and stealing their food. I have no problem with guns per se....just guns that are specifically designed to take human life.....we have no sanction from God to do that

Oh dear.....we are to be “no part” of the political system of any nation because of who rules this world. (1 John 5:19) Corrupt rulers are found in every nation. Tell me what nation on earth enjoys good government.....Christians are citizens of God’s Kingdom....this does not allow for dual citizenship. (John 18:36)

Why are you dead? Because your gun laws are ridiculous. Kill the bad guy before he kills you is not in God’s law. It’s your choice to obey God or your government if their laws conflict. I know who I obey first and foremost. His law is never in second place.

I’m not the judge you should fear......I’m simply a messenger who has a responsibility to tell the truth...
In the words of Jack Nicolson’s character......it appears that many “can’t handle the truth!”

Who’s laws are we to obey first?
Acts 5:27-29....when the apostles were arrested for their preaching......
27 So they brought them and stood them before the Sanʹhe·drin. Then the high priest questioned them 28 and said: “We strictly ordered you not to keep teaching on the basis of this name, and yet look! you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you are determined to bring the blood of this man upon us.” 29 In answer Peter and the other apostles said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men.”

Slavery was practiced all through history.
Not just by Americans.
It goes way back into ancient times.
People were Slaves from the Dawn of Time in fact.
Not to mention, all are born Slaves in fact to your parents ? till you are old enough to go your own way.
But one is still a slave to a system of this world in fact ?
But it is within your power not to be a Slave ? That is why Jesus said that you must be born again !
The Truly born again is not a slave to this world, but of the free !

Only idiots are enslaved ! for they reap what they sow.

But a real Man of God is not a Slave to himself, because he is of the Kingdom of God ! the works of the Devil are exposed to him !

One must be truly born again or you are enslaved, because ones own mind has not matured to be able to deal with this world.

I look at stats ......Australia didn't do such a hot job of buying back a majority of guns on the street .....The majority of guns are still out there waiting ....

Meanwhile, you've deemed yourself judge over all Christians .....Pity ...

Was I giving you my “opinion” or was I showing you what God’s word says? I think it’s rather obvious…
Try your excuses on the one who is appointed to judge all of us……You have have ignored a lot of scripture in order to keep your weapons…..man’s laws cannot contravene God’s laws and the apostles showed us whose laws must come first. (Acts 5:27-29)

So, if I follow along with what you believe .....Now your Grandson can't be a Christian because he owns guns to hunt .........

Amazing the depths that people will sink to to justify the unjustifiable.
There is no law to prohibit hunting for food. There is no law of God specifically related to the use of weapons……my Grandson has a license for his guns.…..a knife has multiple uses, so does a hammer….most of them are good, but if someone uses a knife or a hammer to murder someone, then it’s not the weapon, but the person using it for evil purposes.…same with guns.

What God’s law does speak about specifically, is the taking of human life. (Gen 9:4-6) So owning or using a weapon designed exclusively to take human life, such as packing a handgun or using weapons designed to kill humans ‘en masse’ (bombs, bazookas, ICBM’s, IED’s, etc)….these could not possibly have God’s sanction, though they surely have man’s. Have you noticed how heinous weaponry has become in these last days?
