All worldly ways, false religions, mysticism, false philosophies and paganism originated in Babylon. They were proud and arrogant and wanted to to build a tower to the heavens and be like God. This is why God confused their language and they were scattered and their ways a d beliefs were scattered throufhout the entire world. T Jerusalem and Rome were labeled Babylon back then because they were infected with this evil.
Now all cities are infected with the pride of life, lust of the flesh, false religions, philosophies, blatant rebelioussness against God.
I recently watched an eye opening video characterizing NYC as Babylon. Certainly, as a hub of the United Nations, materialism to the hilt, liberalism ... I think they even tried to suggest that the Statue of Liberty was a monument to the whore.
The whore sits on many waters, many nations. The entire world is corrupt and will be judged, not just one city. The world system is Babylon.
If it was one city, I would have to pick the richest city in the richest nation.This verse tells different - it is not one city.

Zechariah 14:1-12 below shows the Lords return to earth in fire in final judgement.

Zechariah 14:16, Who Will Be Left Of The Nations?

You will closely note, Zechariah 14:16 & Isaiah 4:3-4 are "Parallel" readings of the same event, as Isaiah gives a clear account of those who are left, those who are found in the book of life, the final judgement has passed, eternity has begun "After" The Day Of The Lord

It’s not the church that Jesus saves when He returns and lands on Mount Olive in Zechariah 14, but Jerusalem.
It’s not the church that Paul refers to in Romans ch. 11:1-2 when he says God has not cast out His people, Israel. Thus the nation of Israel remain His people.
It’s not the church Paul says in Romans 11 is ungodly and in unbelief now, except for a remnant, but the entire nation of Israel alive at the time of Jesus’ return, who sees Him coming out of Zion after delivering Jerusalem from destruction, will be saved - which means they will see Him, realize He’s the real messiah, and will believe and be saved.
And there’s ten or more scriptures where God promises He will gather His people and bring them back to their land that He gave them - but you’re claiming the wrong people came back home in 1948.

It’s not the church Paul says in Romans 11 is ungodly and in unbelief now, except for a remnant, but the entire nation of Israel alive at the time of Jesus’ return, who sees Him coming out of Zion after delivering Jerusalem from destruction, will be saved - which means they will see Him, realize He’s the real messiah, and will believe and be saved.
And there’s ten or more scriptures where God promises He will gather His people and bring them back to their land that He gave them - but you’re claiming the wrong people came back home in 1948.

Jerusalem will be trodden down for 42 months, as the Antichrist rules, he will divide the land for gain, most likely giving it to Arab Nations appeasing the world
