Knowing what we know now……you can see the basis for this propaganda film that is so full of misinformation that the ignorant and uneducated swallowed it, hook, line and sinker…..does anyone recognize propaganda for what it is? It has been used for centuries to paint a dark picture of the enemy whilst portraying oneself as the hero….it works on all platforms…..intended to sway people’s perceptions….not towards the truth, but to promote a lucrative lie….again follow the money trail. Out of every propaganda film someone is adding to their bottom line.

Propaganda is usually broadcast these days as the daily NEWS. I don’t watch TV news anymore…..I don’t believe a word they say.

But after WW2 and more to the point Nam ! was a time of Idiots getting about like the Hippys ?

The idiot drugs that the Government gave the people who went to a stupid foolish act of warfair brought on the new age of Trash people.
I remember many of the Idiots who had been to War were messed up bad ! they did not have to be even Hippys to be like smashed out of their head wack jobs. they could be so shocking evil to their wives real bastards. They would not even speek to me but for gruns and being rude ignorant idiots.
Why would one have any respect for people who showed such lack of regards for others ! and who wants to live like a drunken slob ! or smashed out on Drugs ! weirdos and creeps ! that treated every one badly.

Sure I met good people who were smoking Pot back in the 80's. If they did such for a Party say every now and then, all good ! and it was not about getting smashed out of your head at all, but for enjoying a good laugh and letting your hair down.
most people I know just gave it up in their 30's.

I hated people who smoked pot, I hated them as low life trash ! untill I was 21yo it was then that I met other People who were not the Trash type of idiot grubs that would steal the eye out on a needle etc.

Dope nowadays is total rubbish ! do not have anything to do with such at all ! unless you know what it truly is you are using. and also what type of person you are ? as some people should never be involved in even dope of Grog ! for they can not help themselves to such.
Because such only destroys them !
People with Obsessive Compulsive disorders should Never drink or Smoke Pot ! and maybe other disorders as well.

You bring out a lot of good points Reggie.....but I think we need some perspective as to why men came back from war completely changed.....especially Vietnam.

Those who came back damaged, were given antipsychotic drugs to try and bring their symptoms of PTSD under some control, but they didn’t really help a lot of veterans....many of whom were rendered so affected that could not hold down a job and many of whom were homeless and hopeless....broken marriages, alienation from their children, and no hope of anything better to come.

Cannabis was not as freely available as alcohol, which was the drug of choice for many...and still is for those who self-medicate. The flashbacks and nightmares would only disappear in alcoholic unconsciousness.

Pot gave them relief but because this was a medication unregulated and unrecognised by the medical profession as helpful in the treatment of these issues, it’s use was not based on expert diagnoses or regulated treatment. Abuse of any drug results in bad outcomes.

You have to understand that those who came back from those wars were not the person who left. It did mess with them psychologically because they were exposed to the killing and mutilation of not only their enemies but often their best friends...used by governments to carry out their dirty work. Those who were coerced into signing up for their patriotic duty were never told that a Christian cannot participate in bloodshed....most especially for one side of a war where they never heard the other side of the story. Propaganda filled in the blanks and whipped up that patriotic fervor that is mistaken for Christian duty and still is.

Those who used it recreationally like alcohol, didn’t suffer the same effect as those who depended on it to get them through the day...dealing with the ever present demons that took them back to the horrors they wanted to leave behind when they came home....if they were lucky enough to come home.
Some lived with the image of their best mates being blown to pieces! How can any human being be unaffected by things like that!?

Yes, not everyone was a dope head. But perhaps the ones who were had a reason?
The ones we see today have no horrors to escape like the war veterans, but their lives may still be full of awful experiences....we cannot judge them. Jesus offered his truth to all on the basis of hope that the lost ones would be found and brought into the fold. That is still the case.

Addictive personalities are easy prey to both drugs and alcohol....in today’s world some just live in a drug haze that never ends....and yes, it is a pathetic way to live....and die. But in a world ruled by the devil, it takes courage to stand up and fight for yourself.....to reclaim your life, your self respect, and to become a valued member of society. My brotherhood has many such people. God leads them to a new way of thinking, and gives them a sure hope for the future....this serves as an anchor so that they don’t drift back to where they were.
