The archbishop of San Francisco told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., that she is barred from receiving communion over her support for abortion rights, the archdiocese said in a letter released Friday.

Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone said he in the letter that he had previously asked Pelosi to "publicly repudiate your advocacy for abortion 'rights' or else refrain from referring to your Catholic faith in public and receiving Holy Communion" – or face the consequence of being denied access to the rite.

"As you have not publicly repudiated your position on abortion, and continue to refer to your Catholic faith in justifying your position and to receive Holy Communion, that time has now come," the archbishop said.

"I am hereby notifying you that you are not to present yourself for Holy Communion and, should you do so, you are not to be admitted to Holy Communion, until such time as you publicly repudiate your advocacy for the legitimacy of abortion and confess and receive absolution of this grave sin in the sacrament of Penance," he added.

"Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi’s position on abortion has become only more extreme over the years, especially in the last few months," Cordileone wrote. "Just earlier this month she once again, as she has many times before, explicitly cited her Catholic faith while justifying abortion as a 'choice,' this time setting herself in direct opposition to Pope Francis."

Pelosi, a lifelong Catholic from California, said she would work to pass a law to confirm women's continued right to abortions after the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v Wade, the 1973 ruling that guaranteed access to the procedure nationwide.

They are Catholics in name only, as is Biden, they are Satanic and in league with Satan and I'm glad the RCC denied her Communion, the RCC did the same thing to John Kerry when he was running against Bush, because of his support of Gay rights and abortion, although Kerry's ancestors are Jews, but converted to Catholicism if you read up on it.

All these so called Catholics who support abortion and gay rights should be excommunicated from the Church.

Ted Kennedy was also denied Communion by the RCC, for his support of homosexuals and abortion.

Pope Francis is a fraud. He blocked his church from barring Joseph Biden for the same sin.

ROME — Pope Francis weighed in on Wednesday on a debate roiling the Roman Catholic Church in the United States, where conservative bishops are pushing for guidelines that would deny communion to politicians, like President Biden, who support abortion rights. “I have never refused the eucharist to anyone,” Francis said...

Also people should not be calling the Roman Catholic Eucharist "Communion" or "the Lord's Supper" since it is totally different.

If this person being the "pope" isn't enough of a STINK............ the stench is even made worse regarding the fact that took as his name from:

"St Francis"

Horrible slander of a real Saint.
Even Protestants recognize the beautiful St Francis as a truly Anointed Minister.

Thats awesome. It is like God is saying: "You have a choice, Me or abortion". Gee I wonder what she will choose...

She will chose to try to stay in Power in Washington, until her dying day. And she'd hair-lip hell from Hell to come back and write more abortion legislation if God would let her out.
She keeps herself in the good graces of her legion of abortion voters, by staying the murder in the womb, course.... = (a woman's right).

To Nancy, Power is God, and serving God is just more lip service to try to keep the Catholic Voters on her side.

Youre a funny guy..
Not at all. The Eucharist is a LITERAL sacrifice of a LITERAL body of Christ by a LITERAL priest on a LITERAL altar. But it is frankly admitted that it is a bloodless sacrifice. This is far removed from the Memorial Feast of the Lord's Supper.

You have no idea what youre talking about... Perhaps you should consider the humility of Mary..

As a matter of fact, I do know what I am talking about. Both the CCC and the New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia say the same thing (but not in the same words). Below is the quote from New Advent:

"If the Mass is to be a true sacrifice in the literal sense, it must realize the philosophical conception of sacrifice. Thus the last preliminary question arises: What is a sacrifice in the proper sense of the term? Without attempting to state and establish a comprehensive theory of sacrifice, it will suffice to show that, according to the comparative history of religions, four things are necessary to a sacrifice:
  • a sacrificial gift (res oblata),
  • a sacrificing minister (minister legitimus),
  • a sacrificial action (actio sacrificica), and
  • a sacrificial end or object (finis sacrificii)...
The sublimity of the Sacrifice of the Mass demands that the priest should approach the altar wearing the sacred vestments (amice, stole, cincture, maniple, and chasuble). Whether the priestly vestments are historical developments from Judaism or paganism, is a question still discussed by archaeologists. In any case the "Canones Hippolyti" require that at Pontifical Mass the deacons and priests appear in "white vestments", and that the lectors also wear festive garments. No priest may celebrate Mass without light (usually two candles), except in case of urgent necessity (e.g. to consecrate a Host as the Viaticum for a person seriously ill). The altar-cross is also necessary as an indication that the Sacrifice of the Mass is nothing else than the unbloody reproduction of the Sacrifice of the Cross.

Dear Enoch,

What you fail to grasp, is that it is one and the same sacrifice that Jesus offered 'when the hour had come'.

The same Loaf, the same Cup..

The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?

Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.

Christ is risen!
Alleluia!

The Pope didnt have the courage to do it.
He's too worried about public opinion polls.
So, someone with some faith and some backbone stepped up and did the right thing.
It's not the Pope's normal responsibility to police every diocese in the world. That's what the Bishops are for - to oversee their diocese.

There was nothing out of the ordinary in the way it was handled by Archbishop Cordileone. That's his job.

Francis is not a fraud. He is exactly what he is meant to be. He is a Jesuit playing the role laid out for him according to the Jesuit agenda. Francis is doing exactly as he has been instructed. The plan is going forward.
