Well, not really. I thought I’d beat the anti-Trumpers to the punch after Trump’s tweet today saying that the election may need to be delayed due to potential mail-in voter fraud.

IMHO, tweeting this was a very foolish move on Trump’s part. He’s handing the Democrats a Christmas-in-July present. Not smart!

Delaying the election is NOT necessary. The U.S. has held elections through many upheavals. And as they say, the show must go on!

Edit: I do agree with Trump that voting by mail presents a huge problem that will have to be carefully scrutinized.

I listened to an interview where Trump explained some of his comments. He said he makes them purposely as a trap to the media and Democrats (cause they always put a spin on what he says) and then watch as they make fools of themselves over it and expose their true agenda.
I don't like that strategy but it is making a lot of people do some retracting of what they have said and reported.
Which in turn causes them to lose all credibility.

I agree with you about this tactic. Unfortunately, his opponents were already saying that he would not concede the election if he were to lose. He’s playing into their hands on this one. The Stock Market didn’t like his tweet at all. :)

As I have said several times, Trump has been unnecessarily sabotaging himself, and this is a good example. Making off the cuff remarks, tweeting, having one-on-one arguments with media hacks, commenting about matters which do not directly concern the presidency, all give lots of ammunition to his enemies.

What Mr. Trump should have really done is promised that the elections would take place, but that all matters pertaining to election interference (including social media interference), fraudulent voting, mail-in-ballots, ballot stuffing, ballot harvesting, absence of proper ID, etc. would be addressed immediately by a special INDEPENDENT commission, which would carefully scrutinize all voter rolls and publish a list of BOGUS AND FRAUDULENT voters. And this election would be monitored more severely than any previous election, since the Democrats have publicly stated that they plan to steal the elections.

I've never heard him say this, but I've long figured that was what he has been doing.

The whole voting process has become a Sham.

The original established rule of Law for casting a Vote was sufficient.

Mailed in votes, cyber voting, booth voting has already been proved...a cheaters Aim is to find a way To Cheat.

Funny how some people are quick to wag their finger at a Canidate who is concerned about implimenting Easy Voter Fraud.

I highly doubt Trump believes Voters can be swayed....or that he feels the need to NOT make comments that may be upsetting to haters.

People are going to Vote the way they choose, and the fools will Vote the way they are Told to Vote.
And if a candidates staff supporters can tell a person who to vote for, in exchange for free cup of coffee, they do.

Trump talking about a Delayed Election, and the lefty reporters all in a tizzy is funny and sad on how ignorant the American Public is...
The President has no Authority to delay a Federal Election...but he has every right to talk about things he chooses, same as any other American.

As long as he does not put his foot in his mouth. A US president particularly cannot afford to make careless or off-the-cuff remarks.

It's not the sky that's falling, although it might seem so, to Trump and his apologists. It's democrats, republicans, and nearly everyone else coming down on him about his desperate, albeit foolish move to delay elections. Not going to work.

Why would this be different than anything else he's done lately?

Not smart!

Not even sane. But he's desperate. If he loses the election, he's almost certain to be indicted for a number of crimes. His freedom is riding on this and he's running out of time and options.

Fewer and fewer, according to Fox and other polls. That's what has Trump in a frenzy of desperation.

This is where we somewhat differ.

I am sick to death of polished career Politicians, thinking themselves Entitled to sit in Honorable seats, Dictating (like a Pharasiee) what everyone else Must Do, while using a Legislative pen to Excuse Themselves from the same criteria.

I rather Like having a person sitting in the People's Office, with an attentive Work ethic, doesn't OWE political "favors" and has aspirations for the Good of this Nation and her People and can openly speak, as any other citizen, (without the groomed Political Circle Jerk BS that is designed to Respond without giving an answer....AKA..."sounding Presidental"...as Politicians Expect.)

Off-the-cuff comments are made by people of all walks of life....including Politicians... but moreso "behind" the doors hidden from public view...along with their filthy language, alcoholic addictions, drug use, wild spending on luxury transportation, spas, trips, food, entertainment, and so on...and smugly tax the People to be accountable for their personal lavish desires.

I'm smart enough to know...Trump is not a Physician, Ex Military, Lawyer, Scientist, Etc. ...and relies on Experts to offer Advise... And any prudent person should know ... Information in any of those Fields Changes on a daily basis...and so does Advise Offered Trump.
If that irritates Trumps haters...personally I don't care...they can pretend (as they hurl daggers) they are immune from accountability for their own actions.

God Bless,

Experts like...

Dr. Stella Immanuel, one of the “very respected doctors” who backed U.S. President Donald Trump‘s disproven theory about hydroxychloroquine, also believes that dream sex with demons will make you sick.

Immanuel was one of the main speakers in a misinformation-filled viral video from America’s Frontline Doctors, a coronavirus skeptic group that caught the president’s eye earlier this week. Facebook, Twitter and YouTube banned the video under their misinformation policies after it racked up millions of views, in part thanks to a retweet from Trump on Monday.

The video shows Immanuel and other doctors pushing misinformation about the virus, including false claims that masks do nothing and that hydroxychloroquine can cure COVID-19. Immanuel claims in the video that she successfully treated 350 patients with the drug.

Trump doubled down on his support for the video on Tuesday when questioned about the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine, which the U.S. Food and Drug Administration no longer approves as a COVID-19 treatment.

“I think they’re very respected doctors,” Trump said of the group in the video, before appearing to applaud Immanuel in particular.

“There was a woman who was spectacular in her statements about (hydroxychloroquine), and that she’s had tremendous success with it,” Trump said at a briefing on Tuesday. “And they took her — they took her voice — I don’t know why they took her off but they took her off.”

This is not about upsetting voters, but it's about giving the Trump haters more ammo to use against him and possible swaying voters away from him.

He's pretty much trashed his reputation with most Americans. Biden really doesn't have to campaign. He just needs to let Trump keep on tweeting.

You call what Biden is doing "campaigning"? Really? Yeah, from his basement. I think he's afraid to come out--afraid he might not be able to put two intelligible words together.

You seem to be putting so much trust in the polls. They really don't mean anything. What means something in an election is how many people actually go to the polls and vote for a particular candidate.

He must have a really big basement...

The point is, he's happy to just let Trump self-destruct. As long as Trump is doing one stupid move after another, he just has to stand back and let Trump lose the election.

"When your enemy is making mistakes, don't interrupt him." - Napoleon

You seem to be putting so much trust in the polls. They really don't mean anything.

Trump and his handlers seem to think they do. There's frantic efforts to try to stop the hemorrhaging.

And despite Trump’s frequent (and baseless) claims that public polling is nothing but propaganda designed to suppress Republican voter turnout, they see the same public polling data that everyone else with an internet connection has access to: data that shows Trump trailing former Vice President Joe Biden in many of the states he must win to retain the presidency. Some will even admit that the campaign’s own internal polling is consistent with what is publicly available.
Trump insiders tell me they're worried about the election — polls say he could lose in a way he never expected
