Here in Victioria, Australia has just passed a law that makes it illegal to pray for others or their children if a specific topic is under consideration. That topic is homosexuality and as far as the government is concerned they can do no wrong and it is now illegal to suggest otherwise. It is illegal to suggest that homosexuals need fixing, even if they request help to be fixed.
The core subject matter of the law is the suppression of gender which helping a person to not be homosexual comes under. What the law does is make being homosexual legal and not being homosexual illegal. In other words, if you are homosexual that is your station in life for the rest of your life. No change is possible.
If you contravene this law you can go to prison for 10 years or cop a $10,000 fine. Praying is OK as long as you do not direct the prayer to someone in particular. If you invite people to come forward for prayer after you have preached and someone in the prayer line says "I am homosexual and I don't want to be" your only response can be "Sorry mate but the government says you are homosexual for life and I am not allowed to change that."
The person leading the charge on this one is a guy called Chris Csabs who claims to be a Christian. I call him a wolf in sheeps clothing. He had a bad deal with homosexual conversion therapy so he wants it banned. I agree with him but I do not agree with government deciding how a church conducts its affairs regarding the spiritual help it offers.
What it has done is used a hammer to crack a nut. The government said it consulted widely but funny enough it never consulted with those involved, the church. It only consulted with their homosexual friends and as far as research goes, they only talked to half a dozen people who went through conversion therapy.
The current premier Daniel Andrews, who is a left wing socialist has made it very clear he hates Christianity and has made it very clear he will stick the knife in at every available opportunity. Not only that he is a hypocrite because he claims to be a roman catholic, which can mean anything but it appears they refuse to serve him communion. So work out that one if you can.
If christians do not protest this law, it is anyone's guess as to what the next step is in silencing the church to keep their homosexual friends happy. In case you had not noticed it homosexuality is sacrosanct and they are a protected species now. When Labor came to power, Andrews said he would govern for all Victorians. The bit he missed out was "Unless you are a Christian." He gave the homosexuals $15 million to build a so called "Pride Centre". I asked for $15 million to build a Christian Pride Centre and did not even get a reply.
As far as the government is concerned this minority 2% of the population is to be given special protection and the other 98% has to be subject to their whims and demands.
Of course it does not take much to work out that this law was formulated because the subject of change for the homosexual is fraught with danger. If they admitted that you can change it blows the whole theory out the window that you are born homosexual. If you can change it is obvious that you are NOT born homosexual and that is one thing they hate because they have no answer to it.
