Hi there,

So this is a simple proverb, its not meant to be complicated.
Simple Proverb said:
Soul dies for soul, that's the soul (selah)
The question of which soul dies for which, does complicate it - but only in the sense that the soul can die for soul other than itself. For example the soul can die for the soul of a friend. The soul is still the soul, but the friend's soul is more important. What is it that empowers the soul, then?

What empowers the soul, is that the soul that dies shall have power over the soul that it is. If you have a cow's soul and you die, the power over death of your cow's soul is given by it's ability to still be a cow's soul. A weak cow's soul, will come to life easily, because a weak soul can more easily be what it is supposed to be - to be the soul that lives. The strength of resurrection then, is that the soul that dies greatly for the soul, dies easily - but having died, can "easily" come to life. That is, more soul dying for soul, makes being the soul that dies: light.

A soul that dies being light, can still find another way to die. In other words, the soul being light can find a way to die to the soul under the power of death. If the power of death dies, then life lives - and the soul goes with it. Does the soul die and die again? It can, but without dying to itself, this can become vainglorious or celebrational depending on what it is for. The point is that the soul does not die, without a purpose. If the soul gains purpose through dying, then enduring to the end of that death, is good for the soul. There is power in this, because you can by faith always know, what it is that you are dying for, and why. These things will be maintained by the soul.

So, the soul dies for the soul, that's soul. We have hope then, that the Lord is able to indwell our soul, through His Spirit. If He can do this, then we can be guided as to what our soul dies for, and what it lives for. If it (the soul) lives for soul in the Lord, then we have saved the soul! Why? Because the Lord is able to command the soul to die, as it needs to to subsequently live. This is the power of the soul, realised by the truth of the Lord. We ought to be full of praise for this.

I hope this has been of some encouragement to you.

God bless.
