In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & Judex tremêdus judicabit populum suum. Finis.

(In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.)

There was a thread like this already on this subject, so it may end up merged.

I'm wondering myself what will happen here --- Maybe Peter Turkson will get it? And is this last pope the false prophet or simply the last one before the real false prophet stands up and takes over?

Along the lines of biblical prophecy, another "institution" I watch for is the British Throne. I know the Queen will never abdicate, so for the end-times throne to be in position I'm wondering if she will get ill or something happen so that someone will run things in her stead?

And speaking of Israel, one can look to the other Israelites, the Jews in the land of Palestine, and watch for them to build an end time temple. They have everything ready to go once they get the green light.

Also, one can see the nations taking formation, specifically the nations of the King of the South mentioned in Daniel. We're not there yet, but things are taking shape. I can see it.

The King of the South: Well it ain't Osama. Try the Muslim Brotherhood. They are uniting the Muslim/Arab nations south of Israel.

With the re-election of Obama, we're well on our way to forming a cabal with socialist Europe and communist/capitalist Russia.

The ten-Kings are not Kings over existing nations according to Jesus through John in Revelation, but become Kings when the fourth terrible beast is formed - sort of like how twelve "ministers" act as Kings in the EU over its 25 member nations. So joining America, Russia and the EU into a "Federation" of nations, and having a "body" like the EU with ten ministers over it - is well on its way for the emergence of the King of the North from within its ranks. To be sure, there are a lot of politicians who would love to be the anti-Christ, King of the North as this point... they are that evil.

This last Pope involves the extreme tribulation of the Great Tribulation. The one 'seven' hasn't begun, but the players are on the field. In "feeding the sheep," he should be one of the Elect as he would be following Peter's command from Jesus. Still, the RCC is riding the beast of Europe, and as prophesied, that beast/dragon will turn on the RCC. That would make this last Pope an enemy of the satanic, and thus a friend to us even if we disagree with the tenets of the RCC.

P.S. As to "body," it is important that is exactly how the third beast of Daniel 7 is depicted in the make-up of the fourth terrible beast/dragon in Rev 13:2 (which is possessed with an evil spirit in Rev 16:13-14).

The beasts of Daniel 7 are not the same as the Kingdoms of Daniel 2 despite what the commentaries say. (1.) In Daniel 7:3, all four beasts arise together, while the Kingdoms are sequential. (2.) When the fourth is destroyed - decapitated as it were with the capture of the anti-Christ and the false prophet at Armageddon - the three previous beasts live for "awhile" in Dan 7:12, which in turn factors in the additional 30 and 45 day time periods of Dan 12:11-12.
