Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. - 2 Timothy 2:15.
What is an unashamed Christian; unashamed Christian's are they that do what they know to they know to do. What is right? Right is reading their bible - right is; doing what they know to do to further the kingdom of God - knowing to do right is; seeking God and waiting on him, trusting in all prayer and supplication.
And for those that don't do what they know to do - they are what the scriptures call ashamed Christian's.
James said "he that knows to do right and don't do it, to him it is sin."
