I couldn't agree with you more, But as you say the mind is subject to desensitizing, as far back as the war in Vietnam, when Reporter's started to show the actual carnage on the TV, it was for me very Heartbreaking, as I lost my oldest brother in that conflict, don't forget Hollywood, depicting carnage in movies! I have torn down my TV reception and I only view Teaching's of the Faith! I rarely listen to the radio, to much Garbage from our worldly sources.
I have had enough of political nonsense, we are going to be deceived all the way to the End. Man and his Evil intent, like the days of Noah!
they won't get it until the Fire comes.
Getting involved in the Political Arena? Well if we back someone, and they turn out to be just as Corrupt as the last one, then have we just put our hand into the cookie jar, and somewhat joined them. well like agreeing with an alternative lifestyle, if I agree then I have allowed myself to except what God deems wrong, and I become a partaker in that wrong.
No Matter what happens, Our Heavenly Father, and Our Savior will decide the Outcome, and I believe it will be to all those that hold to the Faith A Great and wonderous Inheritance, what is Ugly now will be Glorious!

they cannot operate on profit as INVESTMENT . i takes a fair amount money to operate a church you pay your pastor the upkeep on the building insurance electric gas . if the funds are there and a member needs some help $$ wise they do what they can to help out . the church is not bank .

If they are not making a profit, they'd pay no income tax. As 501(3)(c)'s they shouldn't be making a profit anyway, so what's the big deal?

Without tax exempt status, Tithes/offerings to run the church would be taxed, from my understanding...it would count as profit rather then as nonprofit. All because we would never marry a homosexual couple. It is against God's Word... That would probably close my church down... everyone is volunteer. Every cent goes into helping others and running the church.

Edit: But then again, I have come to leave my church family in God's hands. :) God has always provided. My church family will stand faithful.

Businesses deduct their expenses. If income is greater than expenses, you pay tax on the difference -- "net income".

I don't believe the government should be involved in any marriage issues. I do not want to impose my religious views on anyone else. God and God alone decides who's married.

But if you're going to give straight people rewards for calling themselves married, then gay people should have them too.

If you want to live in a country where religion imposes its ideas on people by using the government, maybe you could move to Saudi Arabia or Iran.

If Romans 1 is enough for you, why do you need the government to tell you what to do? Surely you aren't saying you're tempted to marry a man because the government says you can?

I'd prefer to have adult gays in relationships with each other instead of hiding and pretending to be straight -- then becoming youth pastors, Boy Scout leaders and priests molesting boys.

I think if you were living at the time of Christ, you would have said the same as above regarding John the Baptist. "This poor woman' has her eyes open. When are you going to open yours?
I can only agree with Baldwin. The religious right has been hoodwinked. And I can see them welcoming the beast and accepting the mark as readily as they welcomed Trump and idolize him.

That puts my mind at ease. Thank you. It would limit funds to help the people though. Wouldn't count as an expense would it?

I don't like the church labeled as a business, but this definitely calms fears I've had for the longest.

Yes, they could deduct money used for charity. Originally, churches did most of the charity work in the USA. That was one reason for making them exempt from taxes. That changed when Roosevelt was President when the government started social programs and took over the job churches had had. Lots of churches still do charity work to their credit; but some don't seem that interested.

I'll go with this, rather than what someone like Willie thinks is a "great leader": Revelation 19: 11 "11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."

Doesn't sound willing to work with others of different mindsets, does He?

Well, this really helps anxiety. Thank you. I was afraid a little bit what would happen if my church did lose tax exempt status. Though, there are going to come trials for the body of Christ.

    I like Trump.

I hear Trump saying things, NOT any different then what the general population says in their own "private" discussions, in their homes; in discussions, on media forums. A persons LIKES and DISLIKES and OPINIONS.

    And on the other hand, the Difference between the general population and Trump IS;
Trump is BOUND to particular LAWS, which the general public IS NOT.

Trump is NOT a LAW maker, or a DICTATOR with imperial Authority.

Personally, I am of the SAME opinionated mindset as Trump reveals is his own opinionated mindset. In other words, Many things Trump speaks of he is FOR and AGAINST, parallel my own opinions and ideals of being FOR and AGAINST.

YET...I am fully aware of Trump's LIMITATIONS as President, as I am aware of my own LIMITATIONS as an individual.

    Glory to God,
    Taken

Nothing's going to come of it. Ha, he's running for President. Candidates are making wild statements. Beto O'Rourke said that. He's so low in the polls, he's desperate trying to gain a little support from the far left liberals in the Democratic Pary by saying that. Even if he was President, he couldn't get it passed into law, not when the Senate is Republican, and it looks to me like it will stay Republican. I also don't think most Democrats would vote for that -- if they get too far out, they can get voted out too, and they have religious people voting for them who wouldn't like it. It's a lot of empty air coming from O'Rourke. Just another crazy statement coming from another crazy politician.
