Amen and I agree.
Like you mentioned in a different thread...I too come on here and 'look for' certain people and hope that they have posted.

The Site has it's good days and bad days when the negatives outweigh the positives, but if we wait long enough then the pendulum swings back the other way again and we get encouraged :)
Ha! How true about the pendulum! ♥

So often there is friction on these boards, and, well, that's par for the course, I suppose. I accept that just as I accept that we are to contend for the faith.
But don't you all just wish, sometimes, that all doctrines, and disagreements all just all of that would just...go away!
What do we long for in our walk with God? If we could just dismiss all the humanity and sin that got in the way, what do we hope for, in the bottom of our soul, that perfection in God would look like...in our relationships with people, and with God?
I long for the day of my Saviors return! Not because I hate this life, although there is plenty in it that is hard, as I'm sure all of us could agree to. No...I just want to see him. I want to see what this world could BE without sin...
To be able to be out in my garden without worrying about weeds, water, becoming tired, bugs, disease...!
To have an end to the tearing horrors we see on the news.
To have friendships blossom into what we have a sneaking suspicion they could be, but just aren't quite, yet.
To enjoy the labor of the day without any hardship, knowing that it's all for the glory of God and in companionship of our brothers and sisters.
How can we not long for this?
What does everyone hope for when that day comes?
The day that there is no debate in the subject is that the subject is dead or of no interest, it's just the way life is and debate is a healthy thing of reality, we are not living in a dream world.

When you are truly Born Again you do see our relationship with people and God, it's not a problem but just a reality.

I don't long for my Saviours return, he is with me now regardless, that's what you get when you are truly Born Again.

Hardship can be good for the Soul and a challenge is part of Virtue.

People who long for such rubbish are lost, what do you think that 2000 years were all about, Jesus gave us the message and we were to pick it up, it's the same message regardless be it 2000 years ago or after Satan's rule that is coming that will enslave the whole world under firstly Socialism then it will become Communism and then that will fail badly and then out of the ashes will come the Holy Spirit, people will have a real wake up call hitting them in the fact that no one will be able to deny, they will see through the worldly works of the Satanist deceptions and just come back to the Holy Spirit.

Fact is that to hope for Satanist to bring all this about is a grave Sin, so one should not tempt the Lord with longing for such rubbish.
I have heard such rubbish from so called Christians demanding the Lords return in the flesh, but that will not take place Biblically in fact, that is the Devil that they are yearning for. they want a man with a Rod of Iron that is the Devil, Jesus never did want such rubbish, Jesus wanted your Soul to come to the Holy Spirit and in that way you will be Born Again, strengthened in the Lord Jesus and become his saints, bring all into the fellowship in the Lord, it's not about having a lay back easy time, it's about the challenge, taking it on putting Christ Jesus on The yoke you must bear.

You have to pick it up, all people have to pick it up and abide in our Lord and Saviour.

The problem nowadays is that people want the Kingdom but they don't want God in it. they are throwing out the baby with the bath water and are idolising that someone can do all they want done for them, no it starts with you ! being an example just like the Saints did taking up the challenge.
I don't remember any Saint sitting back on his arse.

The Lord is waiting for us to get it together. He has provided us with all the requirements for unity...but we are not looking to Him.

Jesus is coming back for a Bride that is without spot or wrinkle. We need to attract Jesus back to Earth. When we become a functioning Body...the Head will come down to us.

So then we should be concentrating on bringing the Lord back....by our loving conduct towards each other.

Aren't we a bride "without spot of wrinkle" only because we are given Christ's perfect life as our own in God's eyes? So...wouldn't that mean, in effect, that we would be attracting Jesus back with his own nature, that he himself gifts to us, that we ourselves cannot earn or work to gain?
Perhaps instead of working to get it together and luring Christ back to the earth, we should just humbly submit to him and the fact that he'll come when his work here is done. Just a thought.

Maybe for me it is a selfish thing , because of my age and the state of the poor world as I look at it...what hope do the next generation have...
I often find myself saying to the Lord... " Oh Lord is it not time to just roll up the carpet now?" :)

Yes! I cannot deny I experience trepidation for my children. The irrationality of today is frightening, because it seems more subtle and seductive than a lot of the outright evil that we also see. I worry my children will succumb to the teaching that all this is normal. It's a daily battle to remind myself that the Lord is in control, of the world at a macro level, but also at a micro level; my kids. He holds it all and will bring everything to a right and just conclusion.

WELL SAID! Choked me up, Hope for thing's not seen yet! Be Blessed

Paul spoke of waiting for our blessed hope! Personally, this is something that threads through my life and colors it, and...well, I just felt the need to share. Shouldn't we all be longing for it, our Saviors return?! I think if the bible speaks of, so should we, because as you say!

Yes, there will be universal righteousness on earth after Christ's second coming and the establishment of His Kingdom on earth. But the saints within the Church will not dwell on the earth. They will live and reign with Christ, but their eternal home will be the New Jerusalem. And that is another dimension altogether.

Ahh. May I ask where you get the notion that the New Jerusalem is in another dimension? The bible refers to it "coming down out of heaven" from God, and that it will be on a mountain. But there is nothing to suppose it is going to be in another dimension.

But there is nothing to suppose it is going to be in another dimension.
It is another dimension of life -- a heavenly dimension -- as compared to the earthly. There is plenty to support this since Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I keep falling asleep, but typing to respond tomorrow. This will give me some pleasant dreams. What a beautiful post and the ones that followed.

It may be because I am tired, but rest sounds wonderful in my perfect ideal walk with Christ. No distractions or worries. No storms to sink in... Just God and me. Y'all have a good night.

There is so many problems with your post, I don't even know where to start.
I don't really have the inclination to refute everything that I just o_O over, so I'll just say this: you say that biblically we have no reason or proof to think Christ will return literally.

waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, - Titus 2:13

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. - 2 Thessalonians 2:8

to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, - 1 Timothy 6:14

For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? - 1 Thessalonians 2:19

Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. - Matthew 24:44

He said therefore, “A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I come.’ -Luke 19:12–13

Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!” - John 21:22

These are just brushing the surface of the verses that talk of Christ's second, physical return, and you will notice how often the references point to a future event, not something that is ever present because we are "in Christ" now?
So...my point is simply this: if you think there is no biblical cause to believe in Christ's return, you are alone, or among a minority. Both Christ and the Apostles clearly taught a "return", a "coming", an "appearing". Dismiss it as much as you like, but you are doing some pretty, pretty dances of dismissal with words and intentions if you do so, and it matters not to me if you think I'm crazy or a lazy satanist for believing what is clearly taught.

Or...the Next Age...as the bible terms it...? We don't see or hear yet, because it hasn't come yet. But it will once this Age comes to an end. But the expectation the bible gives us is that it will be here on this earth...just an earth made new...just as our bodies will be made new! I think if we start bringing "dimensional" language into it, we're just going to confuse a whole lot of people!

Reggie I didn't realize you were talking about the Second Coming of Christ being rubbish. But I did like that last paragraph you wrote:

I believe this earth is a challenge to live Christ like, and Christians do need to seek God and do their part while here on earth. I want to hear "Well done my good and faithful servant."

But yes, I believe Jesus Christ is coming back and Angelina posted some great scriptures about it!

Return to Me, and I will return to you
Applies to both present and future.
John10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Hebrews11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Isa 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
John6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
2Peter1:1 ¶ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 ¶ And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ....
….3:3 ¶ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 ¶ But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 ¶ Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Have you ever seen a cubic city?

The New Jerusalem is a perfect cube (just like the Holy of Holies) -- 1500 miles wide x 1500 miles deep x 1500 miles high. So we are talking about another dimension of life and living.

Furthermore this city has 12 foundations. There is no city on earth which has even one foundation. And God is the Builder and Maker -- the Architect -- of this city.

Furthermore, this city is constructed of heavenly jewels and heavenly gold, quite unlike any precious stones on earth or gold on earth.

Furthermore, this city will be a heavenly body, giving light to the redeemed nations on earth.

The New Jerusalem is the eternal home of the glorified Church. But the New Earth will be inhabited by the nations which are saved, and Israel and Jerusalem will be central to all other nations.

Amen! This understanding ....although plainly stated in the bible...isn't understood very well if at all usually. It gets in the way of dogmatic teachings.

No, we're talking symbolism, not dimension. I mean, come on...if you're only talking about another dimension, it would still be a giant cube, yeah? So if that's weird here, it'd be weird there. Just because it's in another dimension, doesn't mean it would be less weird.

First, indeed we groan for these things to come to an end.

However, we need to get one thing straight. If you believe that our Savior went to the Father, and also that He is now with you - ya, in you - then if you still look for His return, you are either delusional, a liar, or you just don't know what has happened in you. One must ask, "Has He indeed come to me - or has He not?"...and if He has, then be honest enough to not act like He is not right there in the room.

But back to the problem of strife here and in the world. Do you not know that if you attest to Christ being with you and in you, that this is the hour of judgement? Many will have to go back and read the passages...but this is the order of things promised. This is the time of the Shepherd dividing His sheep from the goats. Then comes the end.
