Your imagery of lambs with a sword is truly irrational.

Is it?

“Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.” (Luke 10:3)

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17)

So you link two out-of-context single verses from different authors to create doctrine? Are you serious???

Psalm 14:1, KJV “... There is no God.”
Psalm 53:1, KJV “... There is no God.”

Se,, anyone can distort Scripture by choosing quotes out of context!

Paul in Romans 3:10-18 quoted the following scriptures:

Psalm 1
Psalm 5
Psalm 10
Psalm 14
Psalm 36
Isaiah 59

Was he serious?

@Jim B

Here’s some context for you:

“As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” (Romans 8:36)

You can dish it out but can’t take it in huh?

Your implication that I didn’t believe in Christ by repeating what @Grailhunter said is no better sir!

But I took it like a man.

No hard feelings.

Too much reverence to an inanimate object. It makes no sense. Its history is well known and it is not that accurate. You picked a scripture and it was right there.....it is exactly what happened. Was it an addition to the manuscripts was it added during the translation process? Oh, I think that should be there. I will just add it.
That is the sort of thing that happens.

Again, Michiah-Imla, your KJV says this in two places...

Psalm 14:1, KJV “... There is no God.”
Psalm 53:1, KJV “... There is no God.”

Psalm 1
Psalm 5
Psalm 10
Psalm 14
Psalm 36
Isaiah 59

Was he serious?

Here is the context (something unknown to you)...

Romans 3:9-24, What then? Are we better off? Certainly not, for we have already charged that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin, just as it is written:

There is no one righteous, not even one,
there is no one who understands,
there is no one who seeks God.
All have turned away,
together they have become worthless;
there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.
Their throats are open graves,
they deceive with their tongues,
the poison of asps is under their lips.”
Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
Their feet are swift to shed blood,
ruin and misery are in their paths,
and the way of peace they have not known.”
There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

[Of course, if you stopped there (which you did) it says that all people are all under sin. Everyone! Typical KJVO condemnation!]

[The epistle continues...]

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For no one is declared righteous before him by the works of the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. But now apart from the law the righteousness of God (although it is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed— namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

This shows clearly that your doctrine and interpretation of Scripture is totally wrong!!!

I hate to break this to you: you're not Paul.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do” (John 14:12)

Except Paul’s work?

Psalm 14:1, KJV “... There is no God.”
Psalm 53:1, KJV “... There is no God.”

Two scriptures with 4 words apiece?

Try again.

I quoted larger portions of scripture.

Wow man, you really are discouraging folks from appealing to scriptures!

Probably because you don’t quote it much yourself and hate it when it is quoted to you.

The cry of “context” is often heard from those who don’t do much Bible reading and contaminated with leaven.

You are so confused!!! You go on and on and on about the KJV and quote Scripture out of context and claim false translation sources.
You make bizarre statements, such as "The cry of “context” is often heard from those who don’t do much Bible reading and contaminated with leaven." I truly feel sorry for you!

I am not saying that the King James Bible is not the Word of God; that is a clear (and deliberate) distortion of what I have been posting. I have said one thing clearly, over and over: the King James Bible is just an English translation, one of many. You are the one claiming that it is the pure Word of God.

So you are claiming the KJB is a corrupt Word of God?
Then it's not the word of God if it is corrupt.
What bible can you hold in your hands that is not corrupt?

Besides, you said, I quote:

“Once again, the King James translation is not the word of God.”
Quote Jim B. - post #727.

Note: I took a screen capture of your post, just in case you decide you want to alter it.

You said:
The rest of your post is nonsense; deliberate distortions. Of course the English(!)

Yes, shocker! God chose the Greek language to preserve the continued line of Scriptures and not Hebrew.

You said:
Bible has existed for hundreds of years. There were translations before the KJV and there have been translations after the KJV. "You do realize that if we were living in the mid 1600’s to mid 1800’s we would not even be having this discussion" is foolishness. Apparently you've never heard of the Tyndale and Geneva Bibles, which preceded the KJV and caused many to flee from King James. Also, there were the Darby, Douay–Rheims Bibles, Robert Aitken's Bible, Noah Webster's Bible, The Illuminated Bible, and others.

If you can't be truthful, why are you even discussing the issue???

Obviously if there is no great and lasting following it means it's not the Word of God. Since the existence of the KJB, it has had a long line of many dedicated followers of it being the very words of God. This is not the case with the other translations. We don't get into Geneva Only debates or Tyndale Only debates.

You also state in your signature: “KJVOs are today's Pharisees.”

No doubt there are OSAS believing KJB Only Christians who hold to a hypocritical form of teaching and or lifestyle on some level. But not all KJB Only Christians are OSAS. SafeGuardYourSoul.com is one group of Christians who are KJB Only and yet they reject OSAS (Which is a teaching of hypocrisy). For OSAS is a teaching that says you can sin and still be saved, and yet many of them will deny this or their own Bible will tell them this (and yet they tell others to follow the Bible).

Another problem with Pharisees is that they rejected God's grace (See: Luke 18:9-14). While this may be true for KJB Only Christians who are a part of the church of Christ (Who make it all about works and no grace), this again is not true of all KJB Only Christians. There are some KJB Only Christians who believe we must have a healthy balance between grace and Sanctification (living holy by God's power) as a part of God's plan of salvation.

There are also different kind of KJB Only Christians, too.
I am not like your average KJB Only Christian in the fact that I actually believe we can use Modern Translations to help get a clearer meaning on the archaic words in the King James Bible. The only thing is that I don't make Modern bibles my final Word of authority because they teach false doctrines, have the devil's name within them, and they are not inerrant (thus showing they are not the Word of God).

I have no idea where you're going with this. I never referred to the doctrine of "once saved always saved" -- OSAS. Likewise with "KJB Only Christians who are a part of the church of Christ (Who make it all about works and no grace), this again is not true of all KJB Only Christians." I didn't mention that, so you're off on another unrelated tangent.

When you return to the subject under discussion, you write this: "The only thing is that I don't make Modern bibles my final Word of authority because they teach false doctrines, have the devil's name within them, and they are not inerrant (thus showing they are not the Word of God). Three strange statements in one sentence!

They teach false doctrines? Where specifically do they do this, and which doctrines are false?

They have the devil's name within them? A quick check on biblegateway.com shows that the KJV mentions Satan by name 49 times and "devil" 106 times, 102 in the New Testament.

And saying that "they are not inerrant (thus showing they are not the Word of God)" is meaningless. I know you think that the KJV is inerrant and the Word of God" but who cares? That is just your (unfounded) opinion. And you know what I think of that!

If anyone, especially Bible Highlighter, claims that the 1611 King James Bible is the only pure translation, there are several articles explaining the many revisions that have been made to that "pure" version...

Changes in the King James version (bible-researcher.com)
Has the King James Bible Been Revised? - Thomas Nelson Bibles

From the bible-researcher article: "The following information is given so that the reader may gain an accurate impression of how far the modern editions differ from the original King James version of 1611."

There are more, of course, but these two clearly show that there have been many changes to the so-called "pure" translation. So, which one of the King James Versions (plural) is the "pure" one? And why aren't the others "pure"?

Worshiping a translation is a pathetic delusion.

It’s not unrelated because you state in your signature that KJB Only Christians are today’s Pharisees, and I was trying to point out to you that while certain aspects of the wrong beliefs of Pharisees (like being being a hypocrite) can be found in all kinds of groups of Christianity (Including a percentage of those in KJB Only and those who hold to Textual Criticism).

Anyways, you clearly have a hate on for KJB Only by your posts here and by your signature. It seems you have some kind of unfounded pent up anger towards KJB Only when if somebody believed the KJB as the pure Word, it would lead them to follow Jesus and His Word. Why is that a problem? Also, not all KJB Only believers believe that you must read only the KJB, as well. So again, what’s your issue with KJB Only?

Most KJB Only Christians I know do not bow down to the King James Bible as if it was the entirety of GOD Himself.
Most KJB Only Christians believe God is a spirit being and that He is a Trinity and that He is to be worshiped.
The King James Bible is just the expressed thoughts or mind of God.
The Bible is our guide for all matters of faith and practice. Unless you are a liberal or Catholic, no person should de-emphasize the importance of the Bible. To do so is merely to metaphorically spit upon the faith or God’s Holy Word.

3. Modern bibles are not inerrant (See point #27 here).

I don't like KJVOs because of their arrogance (yours included). The King James Version is just that -- a translated version of the Bible. It is not perfect; there is no perfect translation. As you show above (and elsewhere) there are myths created to prove your point -- only they clearly don't.

Just because you claim there are false doctrines in modern Bibles doesn't make them false.
Just because you claim the devil’s name is placed in Modern bibles where they do not belong doesn't make that claim true.
You say that "modern bibles are not inerrant". So? The implication is that the King James Bible is inerrant, which is nonsense.

My issue "with KJB Only" is that you and other misguided people claim that your preferred translation is the pure Word of God in English and throw out every other translation as being corrupt. That is a sign of a closed, deluded mind! (Just like the Pharisees minds were closed and deluded.) It is a powerful delusion that causes you to be blind! Unfounded excuse after unfounded excuse to justify your delusion! Show me proof anywhere that the King James translation is the pure word of God in English.

And you know very well that the issue has absolutely nothing to do with following Jesus.

The KJB is not "His Word"!!! It is just one of many translations and, in my opinion, not the best. It is based on a limited set of source documents and was produced for a single purpose: to codify a secular king's version of Protestantism; to make it seem like he (King James) is infallible. By comparison, modern translations attempt to translate the vast collection of sources to give us the most accurate rendering of those sources in our normal English language and, in the process, do their best to be free of sectarian bias. The great majority of them are excellent.

Better by far than the pompous, outdated, error-filled King James Bible.
