You say IN one respect ... you ARE saved... but then say YOU MUST keep holding on to your faith.......AS IF it can slip away...
Don’t reveal you have much FAITH IN God KEEPING you FAITHFUL....

Are you trying to say...THE NEW BORN AGAIN CREATURE, is in DANGER of falling way FROM BELIEVING? FROM FAITH?

Check deeper. Here’s an example in the NT that DOES NOT APPLY TO THE BELIEVER.

That is correct--it is at that point that "believing" becomes "knowing" and "believing" no longer remains...just as the darkness is dispelled by the Light of Christ. Such is salvation.
1 John 4:
[4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Neither verse omits the other . the sooner we realize this the better . Scrips are not to be used to disregaurd warnings and reminders .
So remember , let us continue in Christ holding the hope of the gospel , FIRM TO THE END . Be encouraged .

Faith is not blind. Faith in God is knowing for sure that what you can't see really exists and is true. Faith is a supernatural 'I know for sure', not a blind "I hope this is true". For example, when Abraham put Isaac on the altar he was not saying, "I hope this is all true." He was saying, "I KNOW this is all true." His actions proving the presence of his 'I know for sure' faith. Faith is the CERTAINTY of what we do not see. And it is that faith, that knowing, that the Bible exhorts and warns us to retain and not cast aside so we can be saved from the fiery wrath of God when Jesus returns. Nobody who does not continue in faith inherits the promise.

To hold fast to the word means hanging on to the truth.
We are to hold on to the truth that we heard in the beginning.
No one who casts the truth behind him in unbelief will inherit the kingdom.
How does hanging on to the truth make a person a target of deceitful men? It's apparent that the exact opposite is true. Hanging on to the truth protects one from the deceits of wicked men, not makes one vulnerable to them.

This is a very poor analogy. 1 John 2:24, for example, makes it very clear that the proper analogy would be that the toddler must hold onto the hand of the Father so he won't be in danger of running out into the road and getting killed and forever separated from the Father.
"24As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father."
So, using your analogy of a toddler, the correct understanding is toddler has to continue to hold the hand of the parent to be protected from being killed in the road and forever separated from him. I'm fine with anyone who wants to believe that the Father will never let the child release His hand. At least that belief retains the necessity for the believer to hold onto the Father in order to be protected by the Father. What I resist is this ridiculous new teaching in the church that says you can let go of the Father's hand and get killed in the road and you will still be safe in the Father's hands. That's total nonsense.
