Your reasoning is at best questionable. They maybe physically live for that little longer, but will most definitely will be emotionally destroyed. Destroying a person's emotional state is just as good as killing them. A lot of people would rather be dead than fixatedly unhappy. 39 years of happiness is better than 82 years of unhapiness . No point of living the life if you dont experience the life.Personally I woud rather die sooner than later. There is nothing bad about life which is shorter than the average. Any life no matter how long it lasts can be a good life.
-- There are so many things wrong with your words I literally don't know where to begin.
My first point is that you must have a very limited understanding of what God is able to do in a person's life to say these things.
You seem to think that if a homosexual repents and gives his life over to Jesus, at best he will be suffering and unhappy for the rest of his life.
Do you really have that little understanding or confidence in what Jesus can do in a person's life? Apparently so, and that is very sad.
There is an organization in WA State called Metanoia Ministries that has scores of former homosexuals who are now healed, married, have children and are living the life that God had intended for them.
Their emotional states are not "destroyed" and many of them are knowing happiness and peace for the very first time.
You also COMPLETELY IGNORE the part about living "a happier shorter life" but then SPENDING ALL ETERNITY IN HELL.
As for aids? It sounds like you dont know what youre writing about. Or are you just simply disregarding the whole African continent?
-- Are you so unaware of your surroundings to not understand that the topic I was speaking about is homosexual men.
What exactly does the life expectancy of a homosexual man in the U.S. have to do with the AIDs ravaged nations in Africa?
A gay man in San Franciso isn't likely to have AIDS because he caught it on a trip to africa. Please try to focus.
As for those Christians, what are they doing? It makes no sense to me. Why do they want to base our religion on hostile threats?
-- Of course it makes no sense to you.
You are obviously confused because you obviously have never participated in witnessing to the lost. Sharing with love to a homosexual (or anyone else) involves doing it out of love, explaining that you too were a sinner but turned away and repented, you were just as doomed due to your sin as they are, and that Jesus loves them as much as he loves you, wants you to know happiness and eternal salvation and it is yours for the taking.
This ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ is not "basing our religion on hostile threats." How can you not know this?
I was saved because someone witnessed to me, let me know we are ALL sinners, but we do not have to live in sin. He let me know that Jesus loved me as much has He loved that man and all I have to do is give my life to him and I become a child of His.
Tell me, does what he said sound like "hostile threats?"
If a person follows christianity because they fear they just might burn, then they are not true a believer. They could be muslim! True believers believe by will, not instictive fear. How can they possibly follow and love our Father if all he is to them is a figure of malice?
-- Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
If you truly turn to God and seek Him, you will not live in fear. You will realize you are loved and that He has great plans for you - no matter who you are - if you will but follow him.
Your argument that someone is going to live their life as a Christian out of complete fear and nothing else, and it would remain the sole basis is very narrow and shows a total lack of understanding on your part.
