The 2nd Death

The "2nd death" is simply the eternal continuation of the 1st Death found in Adam.

In other words.,, , "In Adam we all die" and in "Christ we are all made alive".

The 1st Adam brought sin and death to all mankind, and the 2nd Adam ( JESUS ) brings the offer of Eternal Life to all mankind, which ends "death".

Before Adam fell or "died", He was in Spiritual Union with God. When He "fell" , when he rebelled.... he lost spiritual union with God, that is defined as "death"...... so that is a loss of God's Eternal life that Adam had before he fell from it, or "died".

So, that is the 1st Death.....its spiritual separation from God.

= When a person is not born again...

Jesus said "you must be born again"< or you remain "in Adam", in "death".... that is to be spiritually separated from God.

To leave that "death" the 1st, is to be born again...... as then you have regained Spiritual Union with God, = Eternal LIFE that is found "in Christ".... that is the escape, by Spiritual BIRTH = FROM 1st Adam ""Death."""


The 2nd Death, is to remain in 1st Death, forever...after you literally die.
Literally... 2nd Death means, that you died on earth spiritually separated from God, never born again, in that First Death, and then you hit eternity. And in eternity there is no 2nd chance to be saved, to be born again OUT of 1st Death.
So, to now everlastingly remain in that spiritual separation from God, is the "2nd Death"....or a eternal spiritual separation from God.

That is the "2nd Death".

Where you will exist like that is ....>Hell, followed by the Lake of Fire.

How do you escape that eternal destiny that is originally designed "for the Devil and His angels"???

Jesus said..."you must be born again".......as that spiritual birth delivers you from "1st Adam death",....= restoring you back to Spiritual Union with God, which is... = Eternal Life "in Christ".

In Genesis 2;17 God tells Adam that the outcome of turning away from God and not complying with His statutes, that he and those who come after him will "die the second death."

In Ezekiel 18 the prophet tells us that the sons will not die for the father's sins, nor will the father die for the son's sins.

If an unrighteous man destined to "die the second death" repents and turns from his wicked ways and begins to love the Lord and keeps the Lord's statutes, then that man will live.

However, the Prophet also tells us that if a righteous man turns away from God and begins to sin and will not repent of his sin(s), then that man will not live but will die the second death.

All men are a candidate for the second death however is we turn to God and love the Lord such that we will keep His statutes, during the remainder of our lifetime, then we are redeemed from the candidacy of dying the second and will receive a renewed life in God/Christ and will gain everlasting life.

References, to the second death, are found right through the scriptures for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

Jesus often made the statement that there were those who were standing around him who would not "die the second death" until He returned once more at the end of the Age of the Ages.

In Revelation 20 the scripture tells us that when Christ returns to judge the peoples of the earth after capturing the Beast, the False Prophet and Satan and disposing them into the Lake of Fire, that those who are found written in the Book of Life will enter into Eternity, and live, but those who are not found in the Book of Life will enter into the Lake of Fire which is the Second death. Then the Second death and Hades will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire as the Second Death and Hades, which were both present from the first day of creation, will no longer be required during the Age of Eternity.

It is our choice as where we end up when we are judged as to our righteous by Christ.

The first death is recorded at Heb 9:27, although you were correct about Adam and Eve, they died spiritually the day they sinned, but as a soul they died many years later.

All humans were born in sin, so their first death is what we know as death, after the resurrection if they die, it is what you call the second death, and as you accurately stated it is permanent.

The born again are "children of the Light".

The never born again are Children of the devil who have spiritual darkness as their Light, and 2nd Death is their eternal life, as "outer darkness".

Your questions imply that you have never read the Bible. The rich man died but was very much alive in the fire.

IN the Garden, 1st Adam had spiritual union with God.
He lost this because of disobedience, and that is separation that the bible defines as a "death".
If you can think of God and Christ as LIFE, then when Adam was parted from life, = he entered into spiritual separation from God or "death".
That is the 1st Death.
This death as well as physical death, was passed unto the entire human race as "death by sin".

When you are born again.......This is to become spiritually joined again to God., and this is to leave 1st Death and enter eternal life.
If you are never born again, then your 1st Death continues into eternity, and because you can't be born again after you die, you then exist in separation from God, spiritually, that is never ending......and this is the 2nd Death.
