What's your view on the final judgement?
Here are the three popular biblical views:
1) Damnationism
2) Annihilationism
3) Universalism

All three views are biblical, all three views are in DIRECT conflict.

Some definitions my help.

What's your view on the final judgement?

Here are the three popular biblical views:
1) Damnationism
The forever burning hell, eternal separation from God for the "unsaved".
2) Annihilationism
Incineration of the "unsaved" after judgment.
3) Universalism
Everyone will go through an age of judgment, correction, and restoration.
There are no "unsaved". The plan of redemption is for all humankind.

Many believe that the "unsaved" dead are raised from a state of unconscious nonexistence
to face incineration, or eternal torment after judgment.

- Damnationism conflicts with Annihilationism and Universalism
- Annihilationism conflicts with Damnationism and Universalism
- Universalism conflicts with Damnationism and Annihilationism

All three views are biblical, all three views are in DIRECT conflict.

The assumptions are loaded, the verdict determined and from what I hear and see, various individuals are so sure they could just about sit in the judgement seat themselves....but I would ask, who is judging who in any judgement?

Absolutely false on it's face. The Bible does not contradict itself.

The deceiver speaks this way.

Much love!
C'mon marks, whatever makes you conclude that? ...and allow me to ask, how would you feel if it was clearly shown you contradictions?
Would the authority of the Bible be diminished in your eyes? or would you revise how you see.....or would you flat out deny the contradiction?

The Biblical view.

"And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."
What about this support for Annihilationism?

2 Peter 3:7 (NASB)
But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire,
kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

Are you a Damnationist, an Annihilationist, or a Universalist?
These are the three doctrinal views of the Final Judgement, each with biblical support.
The Bible does not contradict itself, it never has, and never will.

I'm a Christian, if you must label me.
Here are the definitions. Which one best fits your doctrine of the Final Judgement?
1) Damnationism
The forever burning hell, eternal separation from God for the "unsaved".
2) Annihilationism
Incineration of the "unsaved" after judgment.
3) Universalism
Everyone will go through an age of judgment, correction, and restoration.

2 Peter 3:7 (NASB)

This is an interesting passage as we are well aware the judgement in the times of Noah came by water and of Sodom, rained fire and sulfur from heaven. I wonder if this fire in 2 Peter has a historical context which they did not know or understand? Today we have guided missiles and large store house of nuclear armaments. I believe this is speaking of the reign of Christ and him establishing his authority in the earth - it will come with great judgements as the kings of the earth will not kiss the Son. The fate of those rebellious will be a permanent death in the grave, though Scripture likes to use figurative language to demonstrate its severity and truth (everlasting fire, Gehenna etc).

"Everlasting destruction", a process that never ends. Death NEVER means 'cease to exist' in the Bible.

2 Thessalonians 1:9

9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

2) Annihilationism
Incineration of the "unsaved" after judgment.
No. 2 typically assumes angels will take part of this judgement, which is nowhere taught in the Bible, however the teaching of the total cessation of life, physically and consciously is the Scriptural judgement. Unfortunately, Platonic teaching of spirits and immortal souls have created an alternate reality for most Christians; hence the false teaching of hell and heaven going. The Jews understanding of the Godhead and the state of the dead has not changed at all from OT to NT teaching, however the imported doctrine from 100’s of years of philosophical influence has. This is why doctrinal unity is impossible as the Word of God cannot standalone. Have a look at any thread in this forum and you will see council language used all the time.

Hell will be filled with people who don't believe in Hell.

Matthew 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

could it also be filled with people who do believe in hell?
If someone really believes in Hell it may well lead them to salvation. No Hell? No reason to repent.

Psalm 111:10
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;

Seems preposterous that there would be ANY "unbelievers" in the afterlife.
With the veil removed, what is, will be plain to see.

But part and parcel of the belief in hell is the belief that God is not responsible for those who end up there.
It's the blame the victim mentality.

If there is a hell, who created it? The creator of ALL things, obviously.
Those who believe in hell want to separate God from it. As if he had NOTHING to do with it.
