“And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be loosed from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations which are at the four corners of the earth, that is, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city; but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and Sulphur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” - Revelation 20:7-10 (RSV),

Gog and Magog are the rebellious, deceived enemies of God. Even after the 1,000 year, peaceable reign of Christ, some will not love righteousness. They will attempt to disrupt society. Satan will use Gog and Magog as his earthly physical representatives to once again deceive mankind – as he did in the very beginning with mother Eve. If we knew ahead of time exactly who it will be, it wouldn’t be much of a deception. Since Revelation is a book of symbols, we do not know the specifics of this final conflict.

The attempted deception will be a test determining who will follow Satan, Gog, and Magog into wickedness.

During the 1,000 years, every effort will be made to encourage reformation of heart. “The Spirit and the bride say Come and let him that hears say come and let him that is athirst come and whosoever will let him take of the water of life freely.” Trees of life will be “for the healing of the nations and there shall be no more curse.” (Revelation 22:2,3) All outward evil will be destroyed. “The Son of man shall send forth his angels and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and them which do iniquity.” (Matthew 13:41)

Though opportunities will be given for physical, mental and moral healing, some will still be rebellious against God in their hearts. Satan’s deceptions using Gog and Magog as his tools will expose those individuals. These people will be ones who choose not to follow love, justice, and obedience to God’s holy will. However, those in harmony with God will not be deceived.

Satan and the unrighteous God and Magog will be destroyed in the symbolic lake of fire. The thought of “torment” is that of a “touchstone”. In ancient times, a metal coin was scrapped (mistranslated as tormented) against the touchstone to determine the quality of the gold content. Similarly, the eternal remembrance of Satan’s ways (a touchstone) will test (torment) every thought and concept as to whether it is righteous or not. See the expanded answer on “You say there is no hell and yet Revelation 20:10 mentions a lake of burning sulfur and those in the lake are tormented day and night forever.”

I see the mention of Gog/Magog in Revelation 20:8, as an example of a huge army, as an allegory for a vast force. Thats all.

What is described in Ezekiel 38 to 39, bears no relation to that final attack by Satan, after he is released for a short while.
Gog will be buried = Satan will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.

As I understand it, it is all the resurrected wicked after the millennium ie, the second resurrection.

Gog/magog is the very same battle as Armageddon

Revelation chapter 16, 19, 20, are parallel teachings of the very same gathering of the nation's and battle

There won't be a 1,000 year millennial kingdom on this earth, Jesus returns in fire and final judgement (The End)

What does appear to confrim the above is that Ezekiel 39:17-20 uses the exact same symbolism/metaphoric language when talking about the destruction of Gog's armies that Revelation 19:17-18 uses when talking about the destruction of the beast's armies.

Nevertheless IMO everything spoken of in Revelation 20:1-10 suggests something that follows the rise of the beast from the bottomless pit and his (the beast's) destruction in the lake of fire.

The lake of fire is real and people and angels will be tormented there for eternity.

Just one example:

Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

That is where they ARE!!!!!!!! If it destroys people, then it would say where the beast and false prophet WERE!!!!!!!! God is not stupid. He knows language far better than us and knows when He wishes to use a present tense. He does not need us correcting HIm. Also to let us know, He tells us they are to be tormented day and night for eternity! Torment has several meanings depending on contrsut and context. this context is not testing metals but torturing the guilty.

Gog/magog is at Jerusalem, and only one army ever is present. The enemy army is killed by fire from God the Father.

Armageddon is 66 miles away from Jerusalem, and two armies are present. The enemy army is killed by a symbolic sword from Christ.

How is that the same battle?

lol, if you had bothered to study it you would know the word "are" is not even in the manuscripts. All the verse tells us is the devil will go to the same place the beast and FP did.

...and what is the sword Jesus has in his mouth? ...isn't it that of truth....and what is the truth, even that which Pilate asked of Jesus?....isn't it that of kindness even towards God's enemies?

Isn't fighting violence with violence the same as an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth?
Violence and deceit are the tools of the Devil....and would God use those tools?

We need to rethink many of the scriptures used to justify violence and deceit ......particularly and specifically those which are attributed to God......scriptures that clearly are out of step with the reality of Jesus.

Isaiah 53:9
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

1 Peter 2:22-23
Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

You are simply denying that Jesus will kill an army at Armageddon.

Rev 14:19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
Rev 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Rev 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

I would say you are simply denying that sword in the mouth is a metaphor and that God's wrath as defined in Romans 1 does not apply. (swords are used in hands, not mouths)

Mans wrath is to use violence....he thinks this will solve the problem.....he superimposes his wrath onto God and assumes God uses the same methods as he does......and so you have a blood thirsty God which in turn justifies men in their own thinking to use violence.

Even though God demonstrated his style in Jesus, this is conveniently forgotten/ dismissed because men want to insist that God behaves like them.

He knows language far better than us and knows when He wishes to use a present tense. He does not need us correcting HIm. Also to let us know, He tells us they are to be tormented day and night for eternity! Torment has several meanings depending on contrsut and context. this context is not testing metals but torturing the guilty.
Revelation 14:11 mentions that “the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever.” The thought is the same here in verse 10. The “smoke” (the memory of what happened to the beast and the false prophet) will rise up forever, as will the memory of the fate of Satan and the dragon civil power.

Verse 10 states, “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone [into Second Death, from which there can be no resurrection], where the beast and the false prophet are, and [they plural] shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Since the beast and the false prophet are symbols of false religious institutions, and not living entities, how can they be tormented? Furthermore, “the dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence” (Psa. 115:17); and “the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing. . . . Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished” (Eccles. 9:5,6).

Since the expression “for ever and ever” signifies literal perpetuity, could this not mean that a true-to-life audiovisual representation or record of the humiliation, fate, and manner of destruction of these enemies of God will be preserved as a witness to all posterity (past, present, and future) lest in some one of the ages to come of eternity, the circumstances surrounding these events be lost to memory? No doubt all history has been filmed under divine supervision, including this scene, which will be a painful reminder of the practices of these evil systems. In other words, there will forever be a showing of the history of mankind—both the good and the evil—so that the memory of these systems, as well as the memory of Jesus’ death, what he endured, and how loyal he was to the Heavenly Father, will be perpetuated. These showings will not be seen constantly by every individual every moment in every place, but when all the different times and seasons of future inhabited planets throughout the universe are considered, the showings will be ceaseless. Sometime, somewhere, a showing will be going on. Hence the torment will be a painful visual memorial rather than nonending physical suffering actually being inflicted and endured throughout eternity

When the 7th angel sounds in verse 15 below it's (The End)

Revelation 11:15KJV
15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Below when the 7th vial is poured out its (The End)

Revelation 16:16-17KJV
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

The bible states that sword slays people dead so whatever it is a metaphor for, it kills.

This is a weak denial for the many times God's wrath is spoken about and described.

Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
Deuteronomy 32:40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
Deuteronomy 32:41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
Deuteronomy 32:42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

Parts of it are chronological, parts are not. Everyone knows that, even you.

I already proved the battle of Armageddon is not the same battle at Jerusalem and you avoided addressing any of that because you can't.

You are clearly shown below that Armageddon is (The End), there isn't a 1,000 year Millennial Kingdom following as you falsely believe and teach, (It Is Done/The End)

The beast is not present at the battle of Jerusalem in Revelation 20:1-10.
I agree. I don't claim or believe anymore that I have a full understanding. There seem to be some contradictions (I said seem to be, knowing that what seems to be contradictions to me are not contradictions, but an indication that I don't have a full understanding).

Those whose names are not written in the Lamb's book of Life will be known when the beast rises from the abyss, because they will all worship him. Those who names are written in the Lamb's book of Life will not worship the beast.

Those who worshiped the beast are judged with the torment of fire and brimstone forever and ever (Revelation 14:9-11) - a thousand years before the rest of the dead in Revelation 20:13 & 15.

Revelation Chapter 20's thousand years closes with the armies of Gog / Magog coming against "the camp of the saints".

In Ezekiel Chapters 38 & 39, Gog of Magog's war is against the people who had already been gathered back into the land of their fathers (Ezekiel 36:16-18 and Ezekiel 39:23-29). This is after the house of Israel and the house of Judah had been joined again into one nation (Ezekiel 37:15-28; Hosea 1:11; Galatians 3:28)

Ezekiel Chapters 36-39 promise the whole house of Israel that the tabernacle of God will be in their midst forevermore - but Gog of Magog is judged at the close of a long period of peace, safety and prosperity.

Yet only Ezekiel Chapters 40-48 describe a new city and a new temple.

In Revelation Chapters 11 and 21, the tabernacle of God and the holy city are measured.

Ezekiel Chapters 40-48 give detailed dimensions of a new city and tabernacle.

The river of Life and trees growing on either side of its banks producing fruit which is for the healing of the nations is seen running out from the temple in both Ezekiel and in the Revelation
(Ezekiel 47:1-12; Revelation 22:1-2).

Revelation Chapters 7 & 21 describes a new city, and the tabernacle of God dwelling among those who came out of great tribulation, and those who overcame.

Revelation Chapter 7
Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple. And He sitting on the throne will dwell among them. They will not hunger any more, nor thirst any more, nor will the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them, and will lead them to the fountains of living waters. And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes."

Revelation Chapter 21
"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. To him who thirsts I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely. And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes."

It appears you are unfamiliar with Pauls explanation and definition of 'God's Wrath' in Romans 1
With this ignorance one cannot help but revert to Mans definition which assumes violence is solved with violence perpetrated.
