In my Devotional Reading yesterday in 1 Chronicles, I came upon a passage that always disturbed me. It was when God, through the prophet Nathan, told David he will not be the one to build his temple since he has so much blood on his hands; that he was a man of war but the one who will build the...

A video I watched several months ago rhetorically asked this question. While it is absurd to suppose "the Father" is not THE Father of Jesus, Scripture is crystal clear it was the Holy Spirit. So, on what basis does one answer the question?

Today's devotional reading in NSRV included Psalm 144:1 Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; But when one copies and pastes it, one finds a deliberate altering of God's word via technological manipulation. Blessed be the Lord, my rock...

A number of years ago I befriended an old man at the YMCA. We became close. He's like a surrogate father to me now. At one point, his wife said that I am now a friend of the family. At 85 yo, she has suffered from dementia, incontinence and cannot walk and can barely stand. Looming large in my...

Trinitarinians deny the big reveal of Jesus' ministry is that he is the long awaited Messiah, chosen by God to reconcile humanity to God and was never about revealing God incarnate. (Every Epistle makes clear that God, in his unitarian nature, is the Father alone, whose will is carried out by...

This question came up on the radio on the way into work. The hosts said responding with 'none of your business' is overly aggressive. A caller said the question is rooted in fear and we should not respond to fear but simply answer the question, yes or no. The host objected to the claim the...

I've been wanting to praise various translations for some time because I have found not one translation always speaks the most to me. Just wanted to share a couple of verses from a few translations that came alive for me: VOICE A. Ephesians 4:29 Don’t let even one rotten word seep out of your...

In Healing the Masculine Soul, the author properly identified Communism as a feminine ideology. This is because it is rooted in theory (of equality) that goes against reality. He further states there is no more masculine trait than having the courage to express the truth of what is real, even...

In today's devotional reading, I came across David being betrayed by his son Absalom in usurping the throne, which made me thing about Betrayal In Bible & Loyalty in Today's Society. A few of many Biblical betrayals: David by Saul David by Absolam David by his concubines David by Joab (for...

In my Spirit led reading at 3 AM, which I wrote another thread to detail the event, I came across Zechariah 3:4. The NLT translation says the Angel has taken away sins. I read that Jews condemned Jesus for forgiving sins, claiming only God can forgive sins. Then later we read Jesus delegating...

So, I've been wanting to write this all day. At 3 AM last night I had a powerful dream. I have 2 dogs, a 55 lb Chow Shepherd mix and an 80 lb American Bull dog. In the dream I was living in a high rise apartment building with cinder block walls. I was on the phone, learning my dogs had escaped...

There is a Psalm that says woe is from the LORD. I find a big contrast between Jesus saying ‘love your enemies’ with the LORD sending an evil spirit to Saul in 1 Samuel 16:14, 18:10, 19:9 (NSRV). I’ve heard this metaphorically indicates Saul had mental illness but I’m not reading these verses...

This has been on my mind for a while. If someone is living right with God, they show it by living with such humility as to bring tears to those who are paying attention. I'll start off sharing 3 examples. Rush Limbaugh: Just heard the podcast by Bo Sneardly. The day he announced to his staff...

Once Saved Always Saved Forever Virgin Mary Absolute Equality Between the Father and the Son These are some topics that if you accept the doctrine, you can find passages that seem to support it. However, this is not the same as an explicit Biblical teaching, e.g., Roman 3:21-25. We are made...

We should not and need not abandon the field of evidence to the lost enemies of our Lord. See Psalm 19. In that thread, I made the following points. While faith is the evidence of things unseen, there is evidence to be seen. (In this thread, I want to compile the evidence.) Are you required to...

In today's devotional reading, I came across Psalm 89:38, 51 which speaks of God's anointed. I know Saul and then David were also anointed. Does anyone know how many people in the Bible were Anointed by God?

Below is a compelling video on subtlety and nuance of language that I think is lost on many Americans today who are used to overstatement. Before the Potsdam Conference, America issued a demand for the unconditional surrender of Japan. The US learned this was taken as a threat to the emperor...

Please explain how one is to use the feature "Follow People." Do their posts automatically show up in Alert? Or is there some other way to access their posts using this feature?

In today's devotional reading, I came across this verse. 31 “Shim‘on, Shim‘on, listen! The Adversary demanded to have you people for himself, to sift you like wheat! Luke 22:31 (CJB) According to the NSRV, parallel verses are found at Job 1:6-12, Am 9:9. I find the notion of the LORD giving...

In another thread, a poster remarked how Jesus in Scripture is not always lovable, kind or meek. Our feminized society has profoundly attacked masculinity - even calling it toxic. A pastor once gave a Sermon and said Jesus is the ultimate in masculine in that he sacrificed himself to save...
