http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_...er=9&version=31here's a link to John chapter 9, jesus heals a man on the sabbath..my question is: what- or how exactly are we supposed to respect the day of god's resting? because jesus heals this man on this day, and the people say this is wrong, there was another incident, a man was carrying his shoes and someone told him that is wrong, so, i guess a better question is: what and what can we do on the sabbath that is not wrong?well, actually i dont believe this question qualifies for the world of today, but in those times, how was the sabbath "kept holy", as god commands, when people can't even carry their belongins?some scripture please...

You might want to read the last few pages of this thread where we just argued this http://www.christianityboard.com/my-decisi...bath-t3183.htmlBut in essence what Gods Word tells us is Christ became our Sabbath(rest)upon his death on the cross. the word Sabbath is only mentioned once in the new testament and that is to tell us we are not bound to eat, drink, or worship on any particular day. Col. 2:16We are to rest in the Lord everyday. Everyday we rest in the Lord we honor the Sabbath day.the days of the week were not even named untill 200AD and that was by men not God.
