Yes I do.

One was spread across the fingers - LOVE

The other was a nude woman on his arm.
I think anyway that these days it can be quite simple if a Christian has a tattoo of something not suitable from years back, to get an artist to modify an existing tattoo. For example, in the sort of design you mention it can be quite straightforward to add a dress or a bikini to the nude figure. Sometimes the tattoo is a reference to a period in a person's life that they would prefer to move on from; for example, a Christian woman with a tattoo of the name of a non-Christian ex-bf - e.g., 'Bill' - could easily be changed by a good artist to say something else, such as 'Bible', etc. Often these challenges are not insurmountable.

Thanks for your comments.

I guess what we are talking about is weighing the strength of competing arguments, especially among the Christian adult who wish to do it, whether to exercise caution and wait for several years before one is really sure about a particular design, or else being strongly convicted that a faith based design will indeed prove a desired gateway for testimony conversations among other young ppl: so I guess that these two views would correspond with the 'between 26 and 40' category (wait until really sure) or with the 'between 18 and 25' (their conversation-starting likelihood among young ppl is compelling) categories.

So I guess that these two different viewpoints about the appropriate age (if desired at all; good point of yours also) are likely to endure among Christians. (If this makes sense?)

I see the point your making, but I still feel it would be entirely dependant on the individual. God leads everyone differently. Some do take time in feeling led, while others become certain swiftly. And sometimes age is not a factor in this...spiritual maturity is.

To me it's cultural - obviously I do sit on the other side because I have a tattoo , but I did look through scripture and reflect on it before I got one-
I felt good about it. Not sure it was self discovery.
Maybe self discovery is the wrong term; maybe you already knew what would make you feel good; something very much bound up with your culture today that you knew, doing it reflectively, would make you feel really good, I guess?

my point of reference is young servicemen who get tattos because their buddy did....
These days also military wives as well as service personnel are a big demographic of ppl likely to get tattooed; and since military are probably also likely to do it more reflectively (maybe faith/family/patriotic design themes) and with care, it's probably a good thing for their service personnel husbands in that they are likely to be encouraged by their wives to do it carefully and hygienically as well, right?

@Butterfly PS: So even though it does make you feel really good, are you now likely done getting tattooed?

(Don't be surprised anyway if your sons are still thinking about more.)

@Waiting on him I was intrigued with your recent statement: "90% of all conversation is expressive".

Since many Christians get their faith design ink injections done with the intent for them to be conversation-starters, this provides quite an insight, doesn't it?

Thanks for your comment; so maybe voting 'Not sure / rather not say'....(?) :)

Um . . . I believe it was . . . not voting.

Naw. I'm just not into the polls. Call it my one and only idiosyncracy. That would be charitable!

:D

Agreed, mrs waiting can give me just a look sometimes, most the time without saying a word and I know I’m in trouble

Yes; I know what you mean! A picture speaks a thousand words sometimes...

Mrs. Waiting isn't into any tattoos, though, is she?

(Many Christian women are, of course, because of their witness expressive, conversation-starting property.)
