Scripturally and in practice there is nothing to stop the daughter of a Fundamentalist preacher training to pierce ears and noses, frankly.
I agree but so many of the other variations (and even those two in a wrong context) seem to approach the territory prohibited in Leviticus 19:28,
"You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh
for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I
am the Lord."
For tattoos to have any legitimacy before God, we must interpret "nor tattoo any marks on you" to also be, specifically, "
for the dead," just as the prohibition for graven images is limited to objects of worship.
But just as Ezekiel 16:12 & Leviticus 19:28 co-exist in the same Bible, they also co-exist in said parlors. And the former does not legitimize the latter. It won't even give unbelieving artists pause.
