The "skepticism" you see is the textualism I speak of as being the problem with the fundamentalists, and You are right to point that out. What the charismatics fail to see is that not all "spiritual experiences" are from God. Some are from seducing spirits, such as the Kundallini spirit. A true Spiritual experience leads to repentance and the sense of awe of the Holiness of God, Not a "good feeling" per se, but one that puts us in the right place of worshipping in Spirit and Truth.Do fundamentalists have discernement, Charasmatcs lack? I think it is more likely skepticism.
The Bigger "flaw" in both forms of Christendom is the Humanism which is ingrained in both of them. In Fundamentalism it is in the form of faith in human understanding (the vanity of the Mind) which is carnal and against the will of God. In the Charismatics this humanism manifests in emotions and love of self. Both trust in the Human flesh, whether mental or emotional, and Both betray the true faith of Christ.
To explain the subtilty of Humanism in Christendom is hard, But the following vision from a Charismatic might help you to see this.
Escape from Christendom
This is perhaps one of the most inspired visions I have read. Enjoy the read.
God Bless.
