46 votes altogether. 61% voted never. The next nearest was 24% who voted for a mature age of anywhere between 26 and 40. It seems the overwhelming consensus is a preference for no tattoos for anyone at any age. And upon the observance of the vast majority of tattoos I see on the tele and on the streets, I would concur. I don't see any of them as being an improvement on the original design.

There were 25 'nevers'; but 21 votes for other alternatives. I don't see the 'nevers' as overwhelming... :)

Lol, enough to elect a president...
But there are infinitely more serious things to be concerned about for me...

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

We need to be careful about self righteousness. Here's my example: Some years ago I attended a church where the women wore no makeup and wore their hair down to their shoulders; they also wore no jewelry. One day the pastor spoke about wearing earrings. I thought, "Could he have noticed my pierced ears and earrings?" .. I felt like I should approach him and say, "I'll take off my earrings if you remove your toupee and gold watch." Of course, I didn't say anything, but just left the church shortly after.
@liz Many Christian women happen to pierce their ears and many Christian women happen to have tattoos also.

1 Samuel 16.7 is apt.

I think God can take any profession and use it for his glory. And there seems to be, at present, enough young Christians who choose a faith based tattoos to suggest that yes, it might be a valid option for a Christian to look into, career wise, if they like that sort of art.
@Naomi25 Truly conscientious young men and women inked in faith do undeniably make an impact for good. To facilitate as a 'handmaiden' to that end could also undeniably be good.

Do you mean: Have they finished with tattooing their bodies? I have no idea as I've never asked them about it and don't plan on raising the topic. It's inconsequential as they are both non-Christians.
Meaning, Have they likely finished getting tattooed?

I wonder if the vote is just based on their own personal preference...as in "I'd never get a tattoo at any age"....or it was them saying "It's never okay to get a tattoo at any age".
Yes, like you indicate, the 'Never' category is a bit ambiguous, isn't it?

I wonder how I should have worded it instead?

I have two tattoos. .. I have the words "La Mia Vita Bella" and a small red rose on my lower back. It is Italian for "My beautiful Life." I chose this because I am so very much in love with my life, especially as I learn more about the Lord. I have so much to be thankful for and I truly DO love the life He has given me. I am planning a third, of a cross, on my back as well. .. I love that people are passionate about their opinions, I think it's crucial that each person question what is true and relevant to today. I know I have a lot to learn yet, Jesus has just started working on me (because I've just recently opened my heart and life to it), and I love learning from all of you!
Seems that for a lot of Christians, a specifically faith based tattoo is very meaningful. Getting tattooed used to be very predominantly a manly thing to do; although it's now also a very womanly thing to do.
