Understanding 666

We are told by John that the number of the name of the beast is the number of mankind, 600, 60, 6. To understand this number we let the Bible do the job of interpretation. We go to the book of Daniel as we often do in Revelation. Remember in Daniel 2 Nebuchadnezzar's dream. He saw a statue of a man constructed at different levels of different materials. These were explained by Daniel to the King as different kingdoms that would arise, the last being destroyed by an eternal kingdom--the Kingdom of our Lord. The kindgom of mankind is destroyed by the kingdom of God. But King Neb was a proud man so in the next chapter, because he was the head of gold on that statue, he commanded a statue to be built, and for everyone to worship it. And the idol had the dimensions 6 cubits wide, 60 cubits tall. These were unusual proportions that must have come from Neb's own directions, from his dream. Anyway, you probably wonder, "where do we get the other dimension for the image of a man that stand for all the kingdoms of mankind from Babaylon to Christ? Well it just so happens that he built that idol 600 years before Jesus was born (you do the math, I already did). Dimensions 600 years, 60, by 6 the figure of mankind. samy
