Making sense is a low bar. The Holy Spirit is engaged in heart-work. The sensibility of such only becomes clear after-the-fact. Argument is a poor substitute for His transformation of us and, even if correct, can be a
counterfeit to what He is doing/wants to do.
"Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling.
This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days.
But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour." Acts of the Apostles 16:16-18 NKJV
On its face, it did not "make sense" to cast out a demon when she was telling the truth and was a source of free publicity. God's ways are not our ways.
Early in my marriage, I would be manipulative of my bride whenever I thought that she was in spiritual error. God showed me that, even if I were 100% correct (and successful at doing so), she would be conformed to
MY image, not His.
God wants us to show the same consideration to
His Bride.
